That doesn't make any sense. You act like only conservatives are calling Iran Terrorists. When Iran is recognized by the CIA as a Terrorist nation. Ducc, does the US support violence against civilians or not? It is not a complicated question. Ahmadinejad Appearance Prompts Criticism of Columbia University Public-Speaking Decisions
So like Dan pointed out the great "liberal" Columbia university censors and bans the ROTC from their campus? And you support such hypocrisy? They then take away the Minutemen's Oct 4 talk? They support free speech my ass. You should be ashamed for supporting such hypocrisy. Columbia University - School of Terrorism No gays in Iran, says Ahmadinejad (Video) |

What? I made an off-hand remark that people drop the word terrorism to support their stupid argument, and you respond with this? I don't even know what you're getting at. Who cares that the CIA called Iran a 'terrorist nation'? I'm not saying all uses of the word terrorism are wrong, I'm saying using the word to deny a speaker is ridiculous.
Censors? When did they do that? And banning ROTC from practicing is like banning the Dixie Chicks from playing. They are a private school, they can ban anyone. It's not a freedom of speech issue. Columbia is there to educate people, not train them for military practice. What are you guys trying to argue here?
I have no idea why they did that. It would be borderline retarded for you to guess.
I see no hypocrisy. By allowing some, Columbia has no responsibility to allow all. Get a clue. |

So not allowing the ROTC on campus to speak and talk to students is acceptable? I thought you were about "freeeedom of speeech"? It is blatant Hypocrisy!
It is obvious that Columbia is not about Freedom of Speech. |

Hold the hell on. Who said Columbia MUST allow everyone who wants to speak?? They are a private institution, and can allow whoever they want, for whatever purpose they want! You have no right to say who they can and can't allow on their campus. Freedom of speech is one thing. Complete access to speak in their buildings is a damn sight different.
In case you forgot, the argument for whether or not to allow Ahmadinejad to speak has nothing to do with 'freeeedome of speeeech', as you put it. The question is whether or not it's a good idea for Columbia to allow him to speak. The president of Columbia made a very good argument for it, and I'm proud he has the wisdom and balls to ignore the people who can't understand it. |

So you accept the ROTC being banned from campus? It doesn't seem like they have much balls at all.

Accept it? I dunno. Why would I care? it's their prerogative. I think you're grasping for straws.

Of course I do. Do you think Columbia is required to accept any group that wants to be a part of its system? Do you think Columbia is required to let in anyone who wants to speak? These are not complicated questions.
