Go ahead and post any ideas you have! Here are things I'd like input on.

1. City Name - I'd like it to be named after a historical figure? A historical figure for this alternate world I mean. We'd have to think of one though.
2. Twists on Werecreatures - Transformation could be trigured by extreme emotions of any kind, rather then the full moon or just by anger. Also, I'd like to see them as a bit more sinister then they are usually portrayed as.
3. Twists on Vampires - Rather then dying in light, maybe they could go blind in light, maybe their eyes adjusted to a life as cave creatures or something. Instead of drinking blood of random people, they could be able to eat and drink normal food, but their DNA adjusted to get more energy out of bloody foods then other foods, so they just enjoy having blood, but they don't need it.
4. Twists on Angels - Created from humans that have been good on Earth, they slowly morph into angels, gaining the abilities of angels slowly at very mild levels, and occasionally they will get stuck in a state that is half/quarter/eigth/sixtenth angels or whatever.
5. Twists on Demons - Same as above, but they turn demon when they're evil.
6. Presence of Humans? - I've thought about this, and I think it'd be unique if there weren't humans around... though I'm unsure of this. I think it'd be nice if there were only werewolves/vampires (some of whom have morphed into Angels/Demons).
7. Presence of other races? - If we decide to add another race, it could replace humans. Maybe something humanoid, but not so much human.
8. Skin Ideas - Something dark and maybe green/red/purple/orange/blue. I'm not sure.
9. Extra Stuff for Characters - Plot Charts, Emails, Dedication board (dedicating songs/art/poetry to other characters) I dunno what else...
10. Locations YOU want on a modern RPG - Generic ones. I have few ideas.


Feel free to agree/disagree/ignore anything I say, I want this to be a team effort.

This is just my 2 cents since I'm not staff or anything special.

1. On the name, what about Saint John? Named after any John of the bible, the Baptise, the Apostle, Patmos, etc. Each one could be tied into the meaning of the city. St. John when said fast sounds like Singe, so perhaps the populace could nickname it Singe City cause... it's a wild city? >.>

Other historical names off the top of my head are :

Godiva (Of course, that just reminds me of chocolate)
Athelstan (The first king of all England)
Marx (After Karl Marx)
Gaius (Also known as Caligula)
Nero (Last Julio Claudian emperor, plus I just like the way it sounds)


6. I think humans should still be in the game but rather they're on the lower rung. Like they're the ones that are out numbered and considered the "Oddities".


7. Or if you're kicking out the human race, what about something aquatic? Or even fae like. Instead of elf, faerie, gnome, etc they're grouped into one class and share a similar look but aren't clones of each other. What about gargoyles? Or humans with "powers" not like the X-Men, but more spiritual like something to do with magic.


8. Everyone seems to be doing black and gray, I wouldn't mind seeing warm tones like oranges and reds. Or the more daring maroon.


10. I wouldn't mind see a large park or the city/town is near a forest. Sorta of a odd place to stick a city that you wouldn't normally see.

Hey, there. Sorry I'm a bit late; I saw the PM earlier today and decided to wait a bit because I didn't know what to register as, and then it just slipped my mind. I'll read through everything and put in my two cents as soon as I can. xD

Sorry for the delay! Today was my mother's birthday, so I spent the morning grocery shopping and most of the afternoon cooking her a birthday dinner. After that, IF was broken every single time I tried to post. *laughs*


1. City name;
Are you thinking about a made-up historical figure? In that case, how would you prefer the characters' names to be like? As in, will their names be kind of like the ones in our world or would they be more like fantasy names?

2. Werecreatures;
Extreme emotions sounds pretty good to me, though I'm sure they can/should be able to fight the change by trying to hold their emotions in check. Sinister -- of course. As always, it still depends on each individual but

3. Vampires;
I absolutely adore the idea of them going blind instead of bursting into flames or disintegrating. However, I am not as fond about it being /all/ light that would blind them. Because of this, I'm a bit ambivalent about the entire thing, since I can't come up with any good explanation why sunlight might blind them and other light would not.

4 & 5. Angels and Demons;
This is all right; I'm not sure I like it and I don't have any strong feelings either way, but I don't have any better ideas at the moment. I'll think on it? xD

6 & 7. Presence of humans and other races;
I'm not too sure about this, either. I agree that it should probably be either humans or something similar, but not both, unless we end up coming up with a plot point that would involve more groups. I'll keep my mind (eyes? mind) open for more ideas.

8. Skin ideas;
I'm actually kind of guilty for using grey, but I don't really have much of an eye for color. This is the forum I've been working on, though I honestly don't have that much experience with skins and I'm beginning to think it's much more trouble than it's worth, as it's taken days out of my time. xDD

9. Extra stuff for characters;
Can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I haven't been on too many forum RPGs.

10. Locations;
Oh, god. I'm really not that picky. I was at this LiveJournal RPG for about half a year, and for some reason half the logs ended up taking place next to the track. :| Might I suggest not having /too/ many boards? Just a suggestion, of course. It doesn't bother me that much, but I've noticed that it spreads the activity out and most of the time, at least a few boards are kind of dead.

(And I forgot to add: I like dark skins, not to mention that it would definitely suit this RPG better. Green/red/orange sounds good. Not all at once, of course xD, but I do like those colors.)

Singe City sounds good, but Gaius sounds interesting as well. I have to decide *ponders*

I like gargoyles, sounds more "horror-like" then fae, so it could be a race that evolved from humans, but I'd like werewolves and vampires to be the main kind of focus.

I'd still like ideas about the angels and demons, not too sure on it myself. Just give me a suggestion and I'll consider it. Telling me you don't like it doesn't really help if you don't offer a solution.

As for vampires, they would be unable to stand large amounts of light because their eyes adjusted to having little/no light; thus they could be in a dimly lit room, and early morning and sunset would be fine, but they wouldn't be able to see properly at midday.

A few more points for discussion:

Seaside town - I love playing on beaches and the like, so I'd like this.

Plot - I don't want vampires at war with werewolves and angels at war with demons, something interesting please. I'd like some sort of peaceful situation, but tension means if, in character, something is provoked something can happen.

Skin - What do you think of this one?

1. City Name: I too like the Idea of a seaside town, there is just something horroresque about them. Maybe because I love the fog, who knows. If we were going down the biblical route then why not name it after St Peter?

2. Werecreatures: I like the idea of them being emotional creatures but I agree with Sadie that they could avoid the chane by keeping their emotions in check.

3. I too like the idea of them going blind in daylight. Perhaps they are a race of creatures who through some means or another developed for life in caves. Becoming sronger, and leaner, and their eyesight developed for extremely low light and of course their metabolisms evolved to take every last drop of nutrtion from their prey. As for who they are now, well perhaps some escaped this life centuries ago and have adapted to survive within humanity?

4 & 5. Angels and Daemons: The first question we must ask I think is are they going to PC's? They would make excellent plot devices but I would also like to see them played. Instead of having them as humans who have become Angels or Daemons could we come up for a reason why they are on Earth? Perhaps the war for heaven is over and they have been forgotten about for some reason? Or they have no Heaven/Hell to go back too?

6&7. Presence of Humans and other Races: I am all for human characters, I would like to see the journeys and struggles of joe everyman in a world that isn't his. I am not too keen on the idea of replacing humans with something else though, that seem redundant.

As for a plot I think an uneasy peace would be the best place to start, having all the races come together to dish out the power and coming to a not alltogether mutual agreement. Then as time goes on and hopefully with a little more planning form us we can add plots, either for specific races or board wide plots that effect everyone. I.E. not so natural disasters or a prominent Werewolf is killed and tensions mount, that sort of thing.

Well hopes this helps rather than hinders, and once again I look forward to working with you all.

Are you guys thinking of angels and demons as being the spiritual (couldn't quite come up with the right word for that) types or more like species of their own?

Sadie, what you said about the vampires sounds great.

Skin: It's...is it supposed to look like this? The column for the posts (the one where all of our posts are going right now) seems really narrow.

Just a short post -- I woke up about five minutes ago.

I'm thinking angels and demons can be actually inside each person, and they start off at the midpoint between angel and demon, and they can start moving in one way or the other depending on their actions. You could be the most evil of people, but if your actions are good it means you will gain the abilities of angels, but if the reverse is true you start turning demon.

There could be several levels of each, maybe 8, and the further you go one way the more you lose your werewolf/vampire/gargoyle abilities and gain the powers of the divine creature you are becoming.

I dunno, I kinda like this idea but if you guys don't, I can forget about it and change it.

As for the skin, yeah, this is what it's meant to look like. The sidebar is what is squashing it up, but I like it.

Also, I'm not going to have any kind of character etc that cannot be played. I don't like the idea of NPCs at all.

As for replacing humans, I like the idea of them being absent, as they always seem to become "blood prostitutes" or sex slaves for vampires, and that really frustrates me. I like the idea of humans having evolved into some kind of pseudo-human race that has the strength to face up to vampires and werewolves.

By the way, I'm making a thread for everyone to submit the locations they want. That way, it will be done quicker if we do it as a team.

Just got home from a 48 hour shift, which is why I was absent during the weekend. I know I didn't say anything about the Angel/Demon thing because I didn't want to influence it with my character. But Sadie knows a bit about the character I'm playing, that whole condensed paragraph thing, but perhaps my pup's Order could play a role in the game. A quote right outta her old bio:

I like the idea of this order, but if we are turning humans into humans with powers (gargoyles) then they wouldn't want to destroy all supernatural creatures.

Ideas are progressing very slowly, but if we keep at it like this we'll eventually get it done.

OH, I totally forgot. I need to change your names & powers Mime and Jae. I hope you don't mind if I change your name into Administrator Mark, do you Mastermime. And I'll turn your name into Administrator Jae. Just post here to confirm you're ok with me changing your name like that, so I can do it. Otherwise you'll have no idea what's going on.

I like the Idea of the orders, perhaps we could expand upon that? Perhaps an order of Angels sent to earth or maybe those who figured out they were angels decided to band together under the guise of the church?

Ooh, I'm sorry -- my internet died for a few days, and the only person in the household who could've helped with it is gone for the next two weeks. I messed around with it and, fortunately, managed to fix it instead of breaking it.

I don't mind the change.

Pardon me, though, I seem to be developing carpal tunnel, so I'm going to hop off the computer to brainstorm some more.

Would someone like to help me with the main information? I have a prototype race list, but I still need locations (boards, there's a thread for it), rules, plot and the like.

Rules I can do, don't really know enough about the plot at this point, though. Uh, as for those rules, do you like them more general or specific, longer or shorter, etc...?

I can do plot. Once we have a general idea of the races I can help to flesh them out, I do a lot of backstory for RPG's me and my friends are trying to get published.
