Dorian grins widely as he walks out of the chorus room, slipping his hands into his pockets as he walks down the hall. The choir director just let him pick any song he wanted to for a showcase at the end of the year, he's going nuts just thinking about it. The school has never done a showcase where one person gets an entire song to himself, and it's going to be him! He's practically dancing down the hall as he considers this thought.

Without even thinking about it, he begins to hum softly, as he always does when he's excited. Not really thinking about it, he begins to sing the last song he listened to on his radio that day. "Was it you who spoke the words that things would happen but not to me
Oh things are gonna happen naturally..." He sings softly, continuing to walk down the hall, the volume of his voice raising as he becomes more sure in the belief that he's alone. "Oh taking your advice I'm looking on the bright side and balancing the whole thing. But often times those words get tangled up in lines and the bright lights turn to night. Until the dawn it bring another day to sing about the magic that was you and me..."

Anissya emerged from a bathroom, an acrid smell of smoke following in her wake. Normally, on the odd day that she actually did go to school, she would sneak outside to fulfill her nicotine cravings. Today, however, she was feeling bored, that annoying sense of total inertia that creeps over her from time to time and runs away with all of her drive.

Thankfully, the hallway seemed empty. On a good day Anissya could ignore the happy chatter of her fellow student body; turn a blind eye to the jocular back slapping, giggling gaggles of stupid girls and the occasional stony glare thrown her way. Today was not one of those days. It was during these moments she missed home, missed her vast array of mental and eccentric friends.

Trying to kill the time she should be spending getting to some class she no doubt had she crossed the hall toward her locker. Opening it up she tossed her cigarettes and lighter inside and was about to readjust her skirt when a melodic voice caught her attention and stopped her, mid tug.

She turned her head to discern the origin and clapped eyes on a boy, walking carefree down the hallway and singing a familiar song. She closed the door of her locker softly and leaned against it, a slow, amused smile beginning to etch across her face.

Clapping her hands together a few times she snapped the mystery crooner from his musical reverie. "Bravo," she called out, ceasing her impromptu applause. "Why don't you come over here and tell me more about this magic that was you and me?" Her amusement was obvious and she made no attempt to hide the thorough looking over she was giving him.

Dorian continues to walk down the hallway, taking his sweet time before he gets to his next class. His teacher doesn't really pay attention to the people being there or not, and he's walking on air way too much to even consider caring about getting to class on time. He glances up when he hears someone clapping, bringing him out of his musical trance. His voice pauses mid-verse as he glances down the hall, trying to get a decent look at the person who happened to walk in on one of his random singing sessions.

Even at a first glance he can tell that this girl is...well...something else. She is gorgeous, with long blonde hair, shortish in height but he can tell that she has an amazing body beneath the clothes that she wears. He's seen enough girls who meticulously look after their body to be able to tell when one did so, and she did. And there is this easy smile playing at her lips when she looks at him, he can almost tell the way she is thinking from that smile of hers.

"Bravo," He hears her call out to him. "Why don't you come over here and tell me more about this magic that was you and me?" And he can see her amusement grow as she speaks.

Somehow he gets the feeling that she really isn't antagonizing him, just playing a bit. So, being the social butterfly (and slight nut case) that he is, he plays along. He continues to walk toward her, continuing on with the song that he was singing.

"Cause you and I both loved
What you and I spoke of
And others just read of
Others only read of the love, the love that I love..." He sang, his grin growing wider as he got closer. He wonders how she is going to react to this, and has a feeling it's going to be pretty interesting. He's intrigued by her already.

Anissya looked at him in surprise. She had expected him to resemble a rabbit caught in a set of headlights, and turn to scurry away from her. Instead he continued to walk toward her, an infectious grin on his face and his voice getting stronger. She could not help but return his smile; he was engaging to say the least. Not to mention he was probably the first of his sex to serenade her outside of a bar.

She recognised the song as he sung the chorus. Having heard it on her car's radio a couple of times a while ago she liked it, although it was a bit too "light" for her tastes. Regardless, she was enjoying this private performance immensely. He had a lovely, strong voice, the kind that stopped chatter and forced anyone in the vicinity to pay attention. And at that moment, he certainly had hers.

She leaned her head against the locker, watching him with interest. He came to a stop in front of her as the chorus ended and she chuckled, pleased with herself and her decision not to go to class.

"Impressive, my Mystery Crooner," she said playfully with a smirk. "Tell me, do you make a habit of serenading random, alone girls in the hallway?"

As Dorian walks closer to her, he is pretty amazed to see that she's actually sticking around to the end of the chorus. Most of the times when he's singing, people usually just turn around and walk away. He usually doesn't stop singing unless someone asks him to, and for some reason people think his spontaneous bursting into song is weird so they just leave. This girl, however, just smiles at him and lets him continue, and he's more than willing to go along with it.

"Impressive, my Mystery Crooner," She says as he draws closer to her. "Tell me, do you make a habit of serenading random, alone girls in the hallway?"

He chuckles when she says that, he can't say that it's commonplace for him to do this. "I do when girls see fit to stick around long enough to be serenaded." He says with a small grin at her, leaning against the locker. "Most girls don't...but it appears that you aren't like most other girls." He says with a smirk, that was something he could tell before she stuck around to hear him sing to her.

Anissya raised her eyebrows, his words sparking her curiosity. She had no idea why girls wouldn't stick around to hear his voice; she had certainly enjoyed the experience. But then again she could appreciate musical talent when she heard it, no matter the package it arrived in.

"Most girls don't...but it appears that you aren't like most other girls."

A corner of her mouth twitched. "No, I can't exactly argue with that." She pushed her body from the lockers with an elbow and straightened up, folding her arms across her chest. "I could say the same about you, I don't know very many boys who would saunter down a hallway in a school singing at the top of his lungs. Either you're one of those 'shiney happy people' or you just got lucky."

She grinned as she spoke, her mind wandering back to the last time she herself had enjoyed any action of the horizontal persuasion. Replaying that particular scenario in her head she firmly concluded that it had indeed been far too long. At least as far as she was concerned. Bloody stuck up, prim and proper, virginal, pole up the bum... She continued to internally berate her peers as she awaited his response.

"Yeah, I guess I am pretty strange. But I'm into theater." Dorian says with a small laugh, folding his arms over his chest. "So it's kind of in the job description that you're supposed to be weird. When your job is playing other people on a daily basis, you're lucky you don't have little voices in your head." He says, smirking a little bit. He has a surprising amount of fun poking fun at himself. "I don't know if I'm 'shiney happy,' but I do like to think positive...and, well, I like to sing. If you'd rather I sing something depressing, I could always sing something from Les Miz." He says with a laugh, not even sure if she would get that.

He finds himself enjoying this conversation more and more as it goes on. There aren't really that many people here who he will talk to and they will seriously get into the conversation. Most people aren't really completely interested in what he has to say all the time, and he can tell. So they sort of just wait until it's their turn to talk again. He can tell that she's actually listening to him and getting into the conversation.

"Of course, being slightly deranged and in theater does give me certain advantages." Dorian admits with a small nod. "I'm really good at reading people. You know, looking at them and being able to tell certain things about them." He says, running his fingers through his hair.

I should have guessed, she thought to herself, appraising the theater enthusiast in front of her. It made sense; someone who loved the stage, an extrovert, having no problem walking through school with a song on his lips.

She wrinkled her nose at his offer. "No, please don't," she replied, pretending to be appalled. "If you start singing 'On My Own' or any of that shite in a high pitched, whiney voice you'll shatter all of my preconceived notions about you, and you've been doing quite well so far. Don't ruin the illusion Crooner."

Although Anissya was a fan of most types of music, theater wasn't exactly her forté. Unless it had copious amounts of nudity and haunting guitar riffs she generally wasn't interested. She had seen one or two musicals in her time but only because it had been mandatory and the parties afterward were always good. In her experience, the adrenaline pumped, attention seeking leading lads and ladies of the stage were almost always up for some celebrations in their own honor.

"I'm really good at reading people. You know, looking at them and being able to tell certain things about them."

"Is that so?" She asked, her tone slightly teasing. "I'm no good at reading people at all," she said softly, leaning in closer as though letting him in on a secret. "They take advantage of my good nature all the time."

Dorian laughs at her summation of Les Miz. He himself loves Les Miz, but he can understand completely when people don't. "Don't worry." He says, laughter still in his voice. "I'm a pretty compassionate person, I wouldn't put someone through something like Les Miz unless I know they're a theater person and they like it. It's pretty damn heavy for most people." He says with a nod.

"Far be it from me to mess up someone's view of me, it's not very often I do this well with someone I've just met." He says, a light smirk playing on his lips. He has always been very outgoing, talking to people all the time, but he was never really sure whether the people he talked to enjoyed his company while he was there. He supposes that it could be just him being paranoid, so he does his best not to let his insecurities show and just be the way he is.

Dorian chuckles when she leans in and speaks to him, almost in a conspiratorial tone of voice, like she is telling him national secrets or something. "I am really good at reading people, though." He assures her. "Like I could tell you were something else as soon as I saw you." He says, his tone with a hint of flirtatious in it, though he never really realizes when he does such things. "Not that it's that hard to see, really..."

Anissya was more than a little amused. He was flirting with her and she was enjoying it. The most interesting conversation she had had lately was with some drunken bum in Dirty Dan's. A natural flirt herself she had been feeling starved.

"Like I could tell you were something else as soon as I saw you. Not that it's that hard to see, really..."

It was a refreshing change from the usual "You're hot, I'm hot, we should fuck" lines she got from most of the miscreants her own age. Her Mystery Crooner had an interesting quality about him; almost an innocence. She couldn't quite put her finger on it but he was certainly sweet. She felt a sudden and inexplicable urge to corrupt him. Dirty thoughts fluttered through her head and she did not even attempt to pull her mind back from the gutter. After all, that is where it spent most of it's time.

"Ah yes," she replied, her eyes glinting, "But isn't whats underneath the most important?"

She smirked, her eyes traveling to the crotch of his trousers. Spying the outline of what must be his phone in his pocket she reached out and pushed her hand inside. Making a huge show of removing the phone she eventually wriggled it free, her eyes on his.

Taking the phone in her palm she began to press a few buttons. "Give me a call when you want to know exactly what is underneath the clothes." She finished entering her number and handed the phone back to him, an eyebrow raised and wondering exactly her forwardness would go down.

"What's underneath is important.." Dorian admits, nodding slowly. He doesn't quite catch the fact that she is flirting with him, the same way he didn't realize that he was flirting with her to begin with. "But what's on the outside can tell me quite a bit about whats underneath." He says, grinning a little bit. His eyebrows raise slightly as he sees her eyes stray from his, going south.

Even a guy who is as oblivious as him notices when a girl who is right in front of him looks down at his crotch. It's something that he hasn't seen in...well...he's never seen a girl do that to him. There really is something different about this one, and he's starting to wonder if she just enjoys fucking with him or if she's really interested. Either way it's something that most girls don't bother with in his presence.

"Whoa..." Dorian says without really meaning to as she slips her hand into his pocket, resting his hand against the locker to keep himself from falling over. He is wondering just what the hell she is doing in there when he sees her fish out his cell phone. He uses the time it takes for her to dial the number in to compose himself a little bit.

Any composure he might have had flies out the window at what she says next: "Give me a call when you want to know exactly what is underneath the clothes."

His mouth falls open when he hears that, almost unable to believe that she had said it. "Um..." He mutters, trying to think of a decent and clever response to that. But, unfortunately what comes out is, "You bet..." And as soon as he says it he mentally berates himself. He must look like a total idiot right now.

Anissya had guessed that her advance would probably make him uncomfortable, despite his seeming outward self confidence. She had that effect on some boys; particularly the more inexperienced ones.

She gave him a smile when he eventually responded, still amused by his reaction when she touched him. She had a feeling that if he did actually call her she would have a lot of fun.

"I'm Anissya by the way," she introduced herself, holding out a hand for him to take. "And you're right, you can tell a lot about a person from the outside." She made no attempt to hide the fact that she was thoroughly checking him out. When her eyes eventually reached his face she winked conspiratorially.

"Although sometimes appearances can be more that a little deceiving."

Dorian was just...amazed at the way she made such a small deal out of what she had just done. She was subtle, yet sexy about it at the same time, as if doing that was nothing to her, something she did everyday. It honestly scared the crap out of him, he was afraid that he was either going to wake up or the ceiling was going to collapse on him where he stands. This stuff never happens to him.

"Yeah...I know..." He says, holding up the phone to show her where she had entered in her name with her number. "I'm like Sherlock." He says with a small laugh, hoping that she will take what he said as a joke and not seriously, though she really didn't seem like the type to take too many things that seriously.

Dorian bites his lower lip as she appears to check him out. Again, usually he doesn't notice these things but she is making it nice and obvious for him. "I know they can...what does my appearance say about me..."

"I'm like Sherlock."

"Yeah, no shit," she replied, grinning in response to his laugh. With his articulation equilibrium back in full swing she couldn't resist an urge to knock it off balance again. He was bringing out one of her more wicked sides, and she would let him.

"What does your appearance say about you..?" She took her time answering, as though she was weighing her words carefully. "Well from what I can tell so far, you're sweet." Anissya leaned in a little closer and hooked a finger through a belt loop on his jeans. "You're cute," she continued, her cheek almost touching his and her mouth close to his ear, "And you've got some confidence. My favourite combination."

She leaned her head back but didn't release her slight hold. "I wonder if that confidence transfers to any other talents you might have?"

She removed her hand and leaned in against the lockers once more. "Apart from the mysterious crooning of course."

It seems that just as it seems like he has actually composed himself, she does something extremely sexy to knock him off guard again. And it isn't even overly sexy, it's just suggestive...but whatever she's doing is enough to throw him off of his guard, because he's not used to girls being this forward with him. Someone needs to give me a script, or feed me some lines....

He listens closely as she tells him what she sees in him about his appearance. It's always interesting hearing things like that coming from someone who doesn't know him very well. He grins when she calls him sweet, and then cute. And when she mentions confidence, he supposes that he does...for the most part at least. He's pretty confident around people for the most part...he just gets flustered around girls like Anissya. "Well look at me, how can I not be confident?" He asks, though his tone of voice clearly shows how much he is joking.

Dorian's eyes fall closed as she gets nice close and whispers into his ear. Apparently his ears are sensitive, because as soon as she does that he shivers intensely and goosebumps pop up all over his skin. "Christ..." He mutters, unable to stop himself. As soon as he realizes he said that his face goes red. Way to play it cool, Dori...

"I...can't really think of any other talents I have..." He mutters softly, once again wishing he was able to come up with something a bit smoother than that.
