Updates from Administration
STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Current Situation
A war that lasted for two years is finally reaching a cease-fire, at least a temporary one. The smaller countries have been at it for some time, and in the last nine months, Konohagakure, Iwagakure, and Kirigakure have been having bouts.
The last known large fight that took place was the battle of Chi Mizu (Bloody water), where Kirigakure suffered great losses from an attack that included both Iwagakure and Konohagakure forces.
After meeting in the middle of Kirigakure, the two smaller armies were surprised to see each other there, and so the Konoha and Iwa forces ended up fighting each other in Kirigakure as well. Both of the attacking forces ended up dying, almost every single member of each being killed in a sneak attack by Kirigakure as a last defense, having flooded over half of Kirigakure to kill and drive them out.
Now they have declared a cease-fire (Kiri, Iwa, and Konoha) and they are trying to rebuild rather than just kill eachother. It is speculation between the kages that Akatsuki was behind it, but there reasons for it are unknown. Akatsuki involvement has not yet been proven, and so no action has been taken yet.
As a sign of peace, the Chuunin Exams are to be held soon, in Konoha.

The child of prodigy, they'd called him. Of course, doubt was instilled in their hearts as they'd all known the truth about the boy. Those who were old enough to remember him as a newborn, anyway. Many tried to pretend, though Raiken had been a symbol of all that destroyed what much of them held dear. The beast that lay dormantly sealed within him was nothing they could ever forget, or forgive. Raiken having acted out for attention all of the time certainly didn't improve their impressions of him. At first, it'd hurt him. Eventually, he'd stopped caring altogether. His logic was, why not give them an actual reason to hate him? It certainly made him feel better. Though, this didn't remain. It changed once he'd made his true friend. This guy managed to change Raiken's entire outlook on life and the people around him, positively.

This sure wasn't what was on Raiken's mind today, though. Certainly no way he could possibly be down on a glorious day such as today, where the sun peered it's gracious beams through the beautiful clouds Kumo is famous for. One thing he'd gained over the years was the ability to ignore the past for the time, in order to make room for the present. Having just found out the day before who his team would be, he was anxious to see who their sensei would be. Raiken was stricken with a bit of disappointment to find out that he was stuck on a team with that pompous prick, Sen. Sen always managed to make Raiken look or sound stupid in just about any given situation. Somehow, there'd always been a sensei or some form of authority around to stop Raiken from planting Sen with a mouth full of fist. Lucky for Sen, anyway. The other team member was some girl, Raiken didn't know all too well. He thought she was cute, but certainly wouldn't tell her. She was probably just another who was super strung up on Sen. Even his fellow students had high expectations for Sen. Sickening, how everyone praised this kid.

"Tch, screw him!" Raiken mumbled to himself, rather loudly as the phrase continued on to it's end. He was walking towards the designated meeting place that their sensei had given to the team for that day through a letter, his hands folded together behind his head and his elbows extended outward. He wore his usual baggy robings that were held in place by a yellow sash around his waist. His favorite yellow vest was worn over the long baggy white shirt, with a short sleeve on his right arm. The short sleeve gave visibility of his bandage wrapped wrist and the brace of gems that were also on it. Two of the gems had the Lightning symbol marked onto them, while the third had "Rokubi" marked onto it. His hair jolted up as if he had used crazy glue or if someone had stuck his entire hand into a high voltage socket, but no. It was definitely naturally like that.

Continuing his stroll throw the vibrant environment that was Kumogakure, he'd noticed he was nearing the large tree with the cloud carved into it. It stood near 120 ft tall, making it pretty damn tough to miss. The cloud was indented so deep into it and painted such a bright white, one could see it damn near across the entire village.

"I'll show that brat what being a Kumogakure Shinobi is all about!" his typical prepubescent boy voice raised as he muttered the words through a growl. He hadn't known much about the kid, besides the fact that he annoyed Raiken and Raiken just didn't like him. Raiken was eager for the day for one thing and one thing only. A sly looking grin began to stretch across his face, from ear to ear. "This marks the beginning of my journey to Raikage!"
