In the year 2417, there were six powerful corporations that seemed to take the place of the global government. These corporations were in a constant power struggle, each trying to beat all the others with more updated products to fit the world’s needs. For a long time before, each company thought that eventually they would beat the others. This thought stayed in their minds, and kept them going. Once it became apparent they wouldn’t be able to beat each other in the typical way, they began looking into corporate warfare, the word ‘warfare’ quit literal. Each company began designing their own brand of mecha and weapons. Each company came up with their own philosophy for weapons development, and as a result, each company has a different specialty.

The Green Berets Corporation specialized in electricity efficient appliances before the wars began. They brought their specialty into their weapons design. They designed weapons that are more energy efficient, as well as parts. This allowed them to design powerful generators so their suits are able to stay active much longer than the other companies’ suits. However, because of this, their weapons also are not as powerful as others.

The Star Shooters company was one of those lesser known companies. That is mainly because they only worked for the military. Star Shooters specialized in military weapons such as missiles. This gave them somewhat of an advantage in the rush to develop new weapons for warfare. They went big and bulky in their bodies, and stuck to explosive weapons and improved upon their military designs. They made their missiles more portable so their suits could carry more of them. However, their suits are often slower than the others, but they can take a good amount of hits.

The National Mechanized Combat Corporation (N.M.C.C) is a company that was spawned from the small fragments of other companies. They combined their resources and began developing their own weapons. They decided to go with something different from the other companies. The N.M.C.C designed their parts and weapons to focus on the overall speed of the unit. This meant they had to design weapons that were light-weight so as to not to inhibit the suit. They decided to focus on rifles and have everything from fast-firing rifles to sniper rifles.

Kojima Incorporated is the newest company to arrive, next to N.M.C.C. They are also a company that so far only builds weapons. They mainly specialize in powerful weapons, both solid and energy munitions. They also build suits in order to go with these powerful weapons. Their suits can vary from heavy to light weight, but their weight determines how many weapons they can carry.

Libra incorporated is one of the older companies that have somewhat of an advantage in the industrial works. They tend to sell more generalized products that appeal much more to the public. Once the company wars began, Libra lagged behind the other companies somewhat. They were still trying to develop their own weapons and parts while other companies were already engaged in combat with each other. However, they did manage to develop a well-balanced weapon/part system. They balanced out power, energy efficiency, and weight. These suits are somewhat weaker than ones made by Kojima and Star Shooters, but have better defense than suits from N.M.C.C.

The Harpie Corporation, a company that has been around as long as Libra, and twice as cruel. They did not do too well in the industrial area, their products not selling very well. When the wars began they went with the ‘watch and wait’ strategy, watching what kind of weapons the other companies developed and see what to build based on that alone. In the end, they came up with lighter weight arms and legs, sticking with average weight torsos.

The Black Widow corporation is somewhat eccentric. While most of the other companies have a basic weapon and part design, Black Widow goes outside the box. They only use multi-legged models with somewhat different weapons. The weapons are pretty unpredictable sometimes, and you can’t really be sure of what to expect, but they have a trend. Most of the time they use more powerful energy weapons, but not as powerful as Kojima’s weapons.

The fights between companies started out private and unknown, but as they grew in size, they also increased in ferocity. In the end, they became public knowledge that had a major impact on the global economy. It started a global boycott of all products made by the seven companies, the entire planet only buying products made by third-world companies. In order to bring back the profits, the heads of all seven companies met in one of the most famous, yet least known meetings in history. They eventually agreed to disguise the fights as a tournament.

Unfortunately, they did not realize what would happen after they spread the word that it was a tournament. The public began demanding for every tournament to be aired on public television, figuring it would be one of the best rated shows on tv. Not wanting another event like the boycott to take place, the seven companies decided to organize a tournament in order to settle their quarrels that didn’t end in the office.

In the year 2419, the first official tournament took place. It lasted about half a year, and in the end, one team emerged victorious. This team worked for Kojima, and because of this victory, Kojima had superiority in popularity and in the industrial area.

The current year is 2421. The second Grand Arcadia tournament is now beginning. Teams from all backgrounds, companies, and parts of the globe are now warming up their mechs and getting ready for the fight. What company will you join, who will you sign your allegiance to, who do you declare your enemy, and what suit will you pilot to victory?
