She ran, she ran as fast as she could, but she could ehar them following her. The 8 year old girl kept bretahing heavily, her legs were becoming heavy. She had to hide, but she could'nt find in the shadows or in the light, they would still find her. She fell to the ground. Six of them, Heartless. She covered her eyes and prayed she would not be taken away by them.
The six heartless moved in, the one at the back heard a noise, a shadow loomed over it. He looked up, a shot rang out, it was gone. The other 5 spun round, another hit the ground as a claw struck it down. The next two attacked, he spun, punched one into a wall and kicked the other before shooting them both. The last one stepped back, it was so close to the girl, just a little closer. One shot, it was gone.
"You okay?" the girl opened her eyes, he held out his hand and picked her up. She nodded.
"Just tuern left and you will reach the square, go to the tavern" he said, she nodded and left.
Vincent Valentine put his gun away as he watched her leave. He looked back at where the attack had just occured.
"Thats the 15th group this week. Their becoming more of a threat" he said.

((OOC: I hope you don't mind me joining.))

Tidus' eyes slowly fluttered open but he shut them again when the light founds its way to him. The yellow light burned his brown orbs as he forced them open again. Squinting, he looked around at the few, oddly shaped buildings. No one was out on the street yet and the only sound was that of his own breathing and the blinking of the street not far from where he sat, propped up against the brick wall. Before moving he attempted to recall everything that had happened up to this point.

He remembered he had been sitting on the beach with Wakka, his best friend, and watching the waves crawl as far up the sand as they could before they were pulled back into the rest of ocean, only to be part of the next wave that tried, once again, to make its way up to him. Tidus and Wakka were not watching the water as much as they were gazing worriedly at Kairi. She never did much except sit and stare out at sea and the two boys were getting a little worried about her. They wanted to go talk to her, reassure her, or something, but neither of the teenagers could think of anything to say. So, they watched.

Soon the tree’s shadows grew longer and the sun began to go into hiding until the morning when it would rise again to give light. Almost in sync, Wakka and Tidus hopped off the soft sand and, with one glance back to Kairi, they both walked inland. They had only walked a few yards when a black cloud, a gaping hole where nothing existed, opened to in front of the friends. Memories of the day Sora and Riku disappeared flashed in Tidus's head as several small black creatures hopped from the hole. Anger, no, Hate erupted in Tidus. These were the things that had taken his friends. Without thinking he pulled he long, bright blue sword, which he had received from his father, out of his belt and held it in front of him. Then, with a fierce glare on his tanned face, he charged the Shadows, swinging his blade at the nearest one. With the help of Wakka the beasts had thinned in number and soon began to retreat, but Tidus' anger still burned bright and he chased them back into the hole. He was engulfed.

Then he ended up here, sitting on the street, leaning against a wall. He was so confused. He slowly picked himself up, not exactly knowing what he would do next. Before he could think, a shot was heard and he jumped. He glanced around frantically, searching for the source of the sound and there it was; a man, shooting down the little creatures he had seen on the Island. He started to run toward them, his sword already in his fist. By the time he reached the man all the Shadows had been taken care of and a young girl was running away. “Hey! Where did they go? Those… things?” He asked, sounding incredibly desperate. All he wanted was to kill every one of those foul creatures. For all he knew those were the reason why Kairi was acting weird, why Sora and Riku had disappeared and why he was in this strange town and not on his Island. He simply wanted to kill them.

Tidus sighed, trying to breath before he spoke again. He didn't want his voice to come out shaky, sounding young and inexperienced. "It's none of your business. Just tell where they went. I just saw them disappear, but where did they go?" He was looking around quickly a she spoke, attempting to find some trace of evidence that would lead him to his enemies. His eyes went, once again, to meet Vincent's. His questioning look pleaded for an answer while his grip on his weapon grew tighter.

"I killed them" said Vincent as he walked past the young man.
"Your afraid, you'll never kill a Heartless if you like that. They prey on fear"

Tidus' face showed surprise for only a moment before it was replaced by relief. They were gone. He heaved a sigh, but felt only slight irritation that the man had taken them down so easily. He and Wakka alone had trouble, but this man had slaughtered them in less than twenty seconds. Tidus' thoughts were interrupted as the man began to speak again. Tidus' features narrowed when Vincent said he was afraid and he stepped forward holding up his fist, "I am not afraid! And how could I kill one? You just took care of them all. But I could've taken them! I could even take you!" There he went, running his mouth again. It seemed to move twice as fast as his brain. He always saying the wrong thing before he could think better of it. No hint of his mistake showed on his face, though. Instead he shoved his chest out and let a smirk find its way to the surface of his mouth.

Tidus was hoping the man would ignore his challenge but to his dismay Vincent accepted. His grip tightened on is blade and glared at the man's back. He couldn't back out now, there's no way. He had to fight and he had to win. So, after only one deep breath he dove at the man, swinging his sword at Vincent's upper arm. He didn't want the attack to be fatal, just cause enough pain to make his give up.

The blade swung and Vincent rasied his arm which had his gold gauntlet on and blocked the blade. No damage came to the gauntlet or the sword. Vincent swung round and aimed his gun at the young man.
"What is your name?" he asked.

Tidus had closed his eyes as his sword flew through the crisp morning air, and only felt it as the sharp edge of his blade slammed into Vincent's gaunlet. A short grunt emitted from his lips as his hand was trown back and he opened his eyes to see the end of a pistol aimed at his face. His eyes wide, his raised his hands, looking plainly scared. Instead of shooting the man asked him for his name and Tidus quickly obliged, "I-I'm Tidus." The man's piercing gaze didn't help Tidus' pounding heart.

Vincent moved his three barreled gun away from Tidus.
"Tidus huh? so we wish to fight the Heartless, fight the Darkness huh?"
At that moment a Heartless leapt behind Vincent, Vincent turned and fired but by now it was clear there was more then one.
"Show me what you got"

Tidus let out a rather loud sigh as the gun was pulled away. Vincent then began to ask questions. Tidus was putting things together. Those things from the Island were called Heartless. Tidus simply nodded but before any words could come out the man spun around and shot. The gunshot echoed in Tidus ears as the boy peered around to see many more Shadows he now knew were Heartless. Tidus only barely heard the man's words over the ringing in his ears, but confusion showed on his face again. He thought the man had killed the Heartless. There was more? How many? Tidus decided to ask these questions later.

Without counting or planning the best way to take down the small army, Tidus dove into the middle of the enemies and swung his blade at the nearest one, slicing through.

In total their was 30 Heartless, they were small foot soldiers so no problem. Vincent dodged and blocked their attacks, firing Cerberus tkaing three out at a time. Vincent took to the rooftops, 5 heartless followed him. Vincent needed to stay close to Tidus but keep them from ganging up on him.

Tidus continued to swing his sword at each Heartless that came within range. He only saw glimpses of Vincent as the warrior effortlessly killed the enemies, but the sound of his weapon always seemed present in Tidus' ears. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a claw being swung his direction. He only had half a second to react and he wasn't fast enough. With a suppressed grunt of pain he took the hit in the back and then immediately spun around and sliced through his opponent. He had to get out of here. They were coming at him from all side and he needed to get away from the centre of trouble. He found his exit and charged, blocking the blows that were directed at him and attacking back when he could.

He eventually reached the edge of the group of Heartless and turned around to see if he could find the man in their midst. There he was, but he was not in the middle of the army like Tidus. Vincent had jumped to the roofs and was shooting from there. Before Tidus could do anything else another soldier jumped in his path and he only just parried the attack. This was becoming harder than he thought and he suddenly wished Wakka was here to help.

By now up to 20 Heartless had arrived.
"This is pointless" Vincent thought as he landed right at the very end of a alleyway.
"Tidus, lure them over here and stand behind me!" he shouted as he contiued shooting and kill Heartless with ease.
