A Joy to Live
Sun shines, the sky is high, the world is awakening. How merry it seems after the grey cloak of winter! So warm is the wind’s sigh. The water’s laughter as it flows in the gutter is like a friend’s voice I have long missed. Nothing can ruin this hour of morning! It enchants, seduces, glows. Following the spring’s soft call I walk the streets, smiling with the golden sun. Away with sadness, enjoy this day! No man now mourn shall. Ah, glorious spring, give me your gentle embrace.
