You are quite welcome. Elysium is the title track of their latest album, and I find it quite awesome. It has everything a good epic needs, from great singing to moving lyrics and an epic choir thrown in at some point. Stratovarius is quite good at making epics, just check out "Destiny" and "Elements" if you believe me not.

But oh, what a hard game you play! For Blind Guardian is powerful, yes sirree. Those are some great lyrics, as expected when based on an actual epic. Some powerful music there, too. Opera-ish metal with choir-ish singing? As far as "Epic!" goes, I don't think I can beat that.

But ha, do not count me defeated just yet! If I cannot beat you at epic, I shall strike back with emotion! I see your Blind Guardian, and raise you Gamma Ray! Few songs have ever come close for me to beating the emotional wonder that is "Heading For Tomorrow"! Have at you!

I'm glad you love it. It's one of those songs I'm very lovey-dovey of, and I accept not other opinion! You either love it or you love it! Just kidding, of course. Though so far haven't come across someone who didn't like it. Either I'm lucky or the universe aknowledges the awesomeness of this song.

Iron Maiden, hmm... *rubs chin* That's a high level card to play! Fast and furious, with great lyrics, Iron Maiden at their best. For something as such, I shall need a track that is also the band at their best. My Gamma Ray deck offers me this! Hmm...since we are going with favourites, here is the one from my second favourite Blind Guardian album (No 1. being Nightfall in Middle Earth. Duh. ) This story is also about one of my favourite characters, Raistlin. Yes, the one in my spork team. He actually has another one dedicated to him, but I definitely prefer this one. And I think BG represents his complex character here well.

The Soulforged
(Btw, the title is based on a novel centered on him, The Soulforge. It describes events that formed him.)

(In retrospect, it's pretty unclear, and there are a lot of minor references, but the thing here is that a few things went wrong during his test to become a full-fledged wizard. A spell fired by an evil mage painted his skin permanently gold; and on the top of it, and him already being sickly, because he made morally ambiguous choices during the test, but was very powerful and so of use to "greater good" he was cursed...in order to teach him compassion, or humble him, or something. Anyway, said curse makes his irises golden, and his pupils are hourglass-shaped. He sees everything around him aging rapidly - houses and like will decay slower, but average human beings turn to rotting corpses in a few seconds. This, as you see, gets many references above.)

I really like the intro to "Lord of the Winter Snow". The vocals . . . need some adjusting to. The first verse sounded just this side of goofy sing-song, but the refrains are fine and I got more into it afterwards. Maybe it's just me.

I'm not fond of the "hoarse yelling" school of music, but otherwise the second one is enjoyable.

Personally, I don't listen to much music that's much harder than, say, "Magic Carpet Ride" or "Pretty Vegas", so . . . umm . . . here's "Pretty Vegas".
