I'm very glad the woman and her baby is all right.

Caranthol, the Seljuks conquered Palestine about a century before the Crusades. Pope Urban II only seemed to get the idea of going on a military pilgrimage when Alexius of Byzantium sent him a letter exaggerating the massacres of Christians and then describing the Christian defeat at the Battle of Manzikert in 1071. By then, the Spanish Reconquista was well under way, so they could turn their attentions eastwards.

The Muslims certainly did not see the Crusades as an act of revenge for the pilgrims (some of the pilgrims were harassed, but the stories grew as they travelled back west). The Sunni Muslims thought the First Crusade was a Shi'ite plot to overthrow the Sunnis.

Off-topic I know but, Ari you made me feel all tingly by saying 'thank the maker'. Makes me think of Star Wars or a good reason.

Oh and on-topic. It's good to hear the baby is alright, if it had died then it would have been a horrible Christmas for the mother.

Lol, I stopped saying 'God' cos I have religious issues so 'thank the maker' just seems a bit better to me.

Oh I know. I just about cried when I thought the baby died. There was a shooting in another Wal-Mart too yesterday.

I say 'Oh my gosh' since I felt bad saying 'oh my God'. I think I'm going to start saying maker instead now.

*sigh* so much violence and shooting everywhere. It's bad when you can't walk out you're house and not be worried that you won't be shot. I am sometimes. A car backfired nearby and there were some sirens and me and my mom thought there had ben a shooting.

This area is generally very safe. Generally... there's that one day of the year when people do go a bit nuts... I am never going to BF sales again.

It's fairly safe in my immediate area but not always. In the wider area not so much. Only a couple of days ago one of the high schools was closed because someone got stabbed.

There was another shooting? Because I know of the one in Cali...

And then, as I said in my post surrounded by info about the Crusades, one of my neighbors' house was broken into...

I'm sorry, but has anyone else suddenly be redirected from webpages due to ads that take you right to their company's webpage? It's starting to tick me off. I'm trying to scroll through the page I want to be on, but it won't respond because it's sending me to some other site I don't want to be on.

That only happens to me on FF.net, and the company webpage is usually deemed unsafe by my antivirus software so it doesn't show. Do you have protection against adware, MW? That might help.
