If there are any super top LOTR or Star Wars fics anywhere, plz tell me! It's getting very hard to find any good stuff on ff.net anymore. I kept count of the Sue and Slash fics...eww...and the total number I've seen in not even half the archive is: Sues: 800
Slash: 600

Wow, you've counted? That's way too many... sad.gif

Buenos días, Melda! Welcome to the forum. I'm Luthi, the resident Half-Elven, cheesecake-and-caffeine addicted, Half-Elven, carbon-based life form from the American South. A few warnings: 1.) As you have already been told, don't call the Great Almighty Admin Lord Refie a girl... ever... 2.) Stay on topic, 'cause Refie's banhammer hurts...3.) If Ari asks you to join her Evil Plot For World Domination, say yes...

And one last warning:
4.) Do not attempt to steal anyone's lust object. Bad things will happen. wink.gif

Jump on in and have fun!

ohmy.gif ARA!! We're not meant to mention Mac!!

Subliminal messaging: You didn't hear anything about Mac, You didn't hear anything about Mac, You didn't hear anything about Mac wink.gif

Oh, and please try not to use text talk beg1a.gif

Joker: You know, there are three kinds of people in this world. The optomistic that find the glass half full, and the pessimistic that see it as half empty. Then there's the paranoid, and they just think someone's drinking out of their glass.

Joker: I'm the one who knocks the glass over.

4 aussies! That sounds great!

Yeah i was bored so I took to counting how many bad fics there were...

Okay...I suppose I'll write a bit more about myself, as its easier to do that in a post then in a slot on my profile.

I am an animal freak...love animals to bits. I have 3 canaries, I used to breed rabbits with my friend, we sold 28 babies from my rabbit altogether smile.gif I also have a tiny white dog named Angel. I knit things a super lot, just a few days ago I made myself a 2 meter scarf.......................

I own a copy of the LotR books, and a book of the hobbit. I also own the entire Narnia books set.

Which Tolkien book should I get next?.....The Simalrillion, Unfinished Tales.....any ideas which ones are the best?

My absolute favorite characters from LotR are ELVES!!!!!!!!!!!!! biggrin.gif

S'okay. I only asked for the next one and y'all were good and didn't mention me to Stellara, so we're good. Besides, I've noticed that the people who join this forum seem to like getting bit. blink.gif Go figure.

Anyway, Melda, my name is MackenzieW, you can call me Mac for short. I've written several MSTs scattered throughout the site, a parody or two and a few fanfictions posted on this site. My other fanfics are located at Fanfiction.net. (My penname here is the same as it is there).

I like LOTR, Harry Potter, historical fiction, chocolate, Broadway, NCIS, Disney, Glee, tequila, and of course, these guys.

I also have a claim on Captain Kirk from the 2009 Star Trek movie as well as Bones, when we can get him drunk. wink.gif

So, welcome and have fun!

PS: In case anyone's counting, I'm American--from NYC!

*whispers to no one in particular* Do you think we should tell Mac that, in the G&L thread, I made out with Bones in a closet? wasntme2.gif

Okay, well, Melda- Mac bites. biggrin.gif

Hey, it's only when we can get Bones drunk. Besides, I don't really enter the Gush and Lust section. If I did, then Kirk and I may have had a problem. biggrin.gif

Oh, okay. That's a relief. I was afraid I was gonna get bitten.

In my defense, it was a random-draw game of Seven Minutes in Heaven, and it was either Bones or Mace Windu. ninja.gif

And I'm leading this thread off topic... fade.gif

It's okay.

And yes, you should put the thread back.

Okay. Ahem... As you can see, Melda, we tend to get off-topic. This is not a good idea, as it generally causes Refie to bring out the Banhammer. In other words, my advice to you is: Do as we say, not as we do, and stay on topic. nodding.gif

Whoops. I must have been MIA when we weren't supposed to mention Mac. tongue.gif

In answer to your question, Melda, read The Silmarillion next, or Unfinished Tales might not make a lot of sense. They're both awesome books though! I fangirl half the Elves from the First Age instead of the ones from LotR in the Third Age. biggrin.gif

*scoots on out before Refie can use the Banhammer of Doom*

What Ara said. And yes, I fangirl First Age Elves, too. biggrin.gif

Is it going off topic if we're replying to the newbie's question? unsure.gif

No, I don't think so.

Also, Ara, you all kept Stellara out of the loop, so you're all golden.

For now.
