Okay, I was watching National Geographic yesterday. It was about the effects that would occur if the earth stopped rotating during it's cycle around the sun. Basically there would be earthquakes galore, all the water would start flowing towards the ice caps. The days would get longer until pretty soon you'd have six months of daylight and six months of night. Oh yeah, it would stop raining around the middle of the earth, and most of the land would be unlivable due to little air being available. All this from the earth ceasing to spin.

First off, do you know how difficult it would be to stop it from spinning. I'll give you a hint, it would require all external gravitational pulls to vanish. This includes the sun, the moon, planets, stars, asteroids, everything. So how the hell are we going to get six month long days if there is no sun? Second off, what the hell did you do with the moon during this simulation you pulled out of your ass? Not once during this entire episode did the mention the moon. I guess it does nothing important to us like say controlling the water. Nope, not important at all. Morons. Thirdly, why the hell were we trying to start a colony to grow food in the middle of where the Atlantic used to be? We do realize that plants can't grow in salt and since it used to be covered by a salt-water ocean that's going to be impossible. Fourthly, there's another colony living beside the Northern Ocean who are complaining about lack of electricity. Has no one heard of solar power? Wind power? Hydro power? Furthermore why can't you evaporate the water, collect the steam and use that to water your plants? It doesn't require electricity to desalinate water you idiots. Lastly, why didn't we dig a freakin' well? It's been raining for a month straight. Trust me, you'll get water if you dig enough.

It was interesting enough I suppose, but it wasn't very factual at all. They seemed to be taking a lot for granted that they shouldn't have. It's fun laughing at their stupidity though.

And what are you trying to say here? That all science is like that? Seeing as you did put "science has died a horrible death" and all.

Three for the Kings of the elves high in light
Nine to the mortal which cry
Seven rings to the gnomes in their halls made of stone
One ring for the dark lord's hand sitting on his throne
in the land so dark where I've to go
Slow down and I sail on the river
Slow down and I walk to the hill
Lord of the Rings

Good heavens no! I should hope all Science isn't like this, otherwise it might actually happen. What I mean is they threw science out the window when they came up with this. There is no logic or facts to support this theory. It's sort of like Suethors and logic.

It's called shock factor. Ignore programmes like that. Nat Geo and History channel do it all the time. Granted, I love 'WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!' week on the History Channel... until people ask me if that would really happen... dry.gif

Actually I just like them because they're so horribly wrong that they're funny. I wanna know which cereal box they got their research from.
