One catastrophic day, something popped out of the rainbow that wasn't eatable. Don't worry, they made sure. It called itself "Skittle" but everyone thought it was overrated. So, they named it Laura. After walking the vast, nonagricultural land for twelve years, it got bored and decided to draw pretty figures in the ground. Due to lack of imagination and "art" was already wasted on disfigured pictures in the caves, it named it "writing". The creature has still survived through natural selection for fifteen years and has yet to acquire an expiration date. There has been rumors of it's insanity but many push it aside as overly optimistic. Thus is the tale of why skittles are a safety hazard to small children nationwide.

Kamber has always had trouble with the opposite sex. They cheat, they lie, and they smell. Then, one day, she meets her prince charming. He's kind, funny, hot, has a sense of style, and actually listens to her when she's speaking. He's the definition of THE perfect boyfriend. Then everything crashes down when she see him sucking face with another guy and it turns out he's just another hot gay guy. Crushed, her whole life goes downhill. Tired of looking for the right man, she decides to find a way to turn this boys heart to it's rightful place but along the way, she has to face her fears of a past that may be her undoing and a reply of all that she tried to push away.

They weren't normal and were well aware. But they wanted to be. Not in the way classified for humanistic norm but as they way they were. They wanted acceptance but hiding in the dark was getting them nowhere. They want a world of their own but making a planet is difficult. So, Earth will have to be their's. Yet, not all their kind agrees with this. The present Earth is fine the way it is. So, who wins?

Ahoy there~

I just read Shadows. First off, I have to say that I'm liking where this is going. (And am I twisted for enjoying the bad guys more than I'd probably enjoy the good guys?) From what little is there, it is something that I'd like to read further. I'm deep into this sort of thing.

On another note, I did notice some issues with description flow. No problems with the dialogue, none at all; the only really jarring issues were in a few of the descriptions and with the continuity/flow. Sometimes adjectives seemed to be a bit too big for the situation being described; at one point I almost had to bust out with my trusty Pocket Thesaurus™ to make sure I had the right image in my head.
