after reinstalling re1 on sons PC i get the error Resident evil cannot run in 8 bit mode Please run in 16 bit or higher > any ideas , he has Vista sp2 , i allready have it in compat mode to windows 95 ...any help will be appreciated

Oh Re1...on vista is a pain in the ass to work with, I think what I had to do (Its being years so don't quote me on this) You double click the install program and its looks like its crashed its running an error of some kind so you have to alt+tab it and click install.

I seriously can't remember anything other than the error popping up and having to alt+tab it quickly but then again it was years ago =/

open files from cd - compat mode to 95-space bar to select card -install- then to actually get it going i used neweur_eur_v1.00c ,all worked well
