Hi Everyone,

First I'm off on holiday next weekend so there won't be a specific themed chat next Saturday. I propose we have a general Classic movies chat at the regular times :

SATURDAY 6th MAY

at 10.00 p.m. UK Time

5.00 p.m. ET
4.00 p.m. CT
3.00 p.m. MT
2.00 p.m. PT
1.00 p.m. AT

I have decided that during the four months May, June, July and August we will have themed chats just once a month. This is because people are more likely doing outdoor activities during this time or are on holiday. We can still meet up on Saturday but chats will be more general and casual most of the time. Remember too the chatroom is open all the time.

I'm thinking as well of trying a change in the time as an experiment. I wonder if people who have difficulty making the early afternoon/evening chats on US time might find it easier to make it in the mornings. This might be better for the summer months too.

In view of the plans people make I'm going to give you a bit more warning of the topics for the four likely Summer themed chats.

Here they are :

13th May : HITCHCOCK AND WELLES

10th June : SCREWBALL AND ROMANTIC COMEDY

8th July : ADAPTATIONS : Classic Books on Film

12th August : WESTERN HEROES (Gary Cooper, John Wayne, James Stewart, Henry Fonda)

These dates aren't set in stone : if you are on holiday and want to make one of these chats just say and I will try to accomodate you.

Over the summer I will continue to announce chats whether general or themed as usual and issue e-mail reminders. Any changes in the time will be clearly stated.

I'm willing to listen to any comments you might have about these plans and any suggestions you have about the chats in general.

I propose that from September we return to the weekly themed chats.
