I didnt know that NIGHTMARE (1956, Ed. G Robinson) was a remake of FEAR IN THE NIGHT. I enjoyed it but Kevin McCarthy not quite as good as Richard Basehart.

I agree with you! I actually saw NIGHTMARE first (being such an Eddie G fan!!), but then saw FEAR IN THE NIGHT, and realized that Eddie's was a remake! Well, I like them both, Eddie probably makes the remake a bit better, just by his sheer presence, but both are very moody, atmospheric and intriguing!

Oops.My mistake - wasnt it DeForrest Kelly, not Richard Basehart in FEAR IN THE NIGHT - he was very good.
