For all the Doc Savage fans, news is circulating that tor.com recently announced plans for the new Doc Savage movie. Evidently from the same people who are bringing Captain Marvel to the screen again.

Yea I read that and as I have said before when these rumors circulate..."I'll believe it when I see it!".

Ktrek,

 Well, we are finally getting THE SPIRIT on the big screen, although I don't know how close to Will Eisner vision this adaptation will be? As I understand it the movie doesn't even take place in the 1940's?

Nonetheless, after that, a new DOC SAVAGE film does not sound so far-fetched anymore. Let's just hope any movie version is set in the early 30's. No stupid updates. You can't have "The Man Of Bronze" In Modern Day Manhattan, it would be ridiculous!

I've seen previews of The Spirit, and it seems to have the 40's feel to it, or at least the film noir look similar to Sin City.
As far as a Doc Savage movie goes, I agree with The Giant, and I hope it remains in the 30's. Even George Pal's DS flick did that much. No matter what, DO NOT have Arnold Schwartzenegger play Doc. That would be blasphemous IMHO. :twocents:
