Title: LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT FOUND???
Description: Yet Another Hoax, or The Real Thing?

The Giant - July 25, 2008 05:50 AM (GMT)
Everybody,

 Huh, no one is talking about this here??? There is a big story circulating around that LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT (1927) under it's British title THE HYPNOTIST may actually survive? Has anyone else here heard about this?

:o This is the link. The tale sounds credible to some degree. I'll be interested to see what other people here think about this???

That would be so great if it was found.

That would be so awesome if it was true!! :w00t:

I mean I've seen the reconstructed version that TCM put out a few years ago, but it's just not the same. :(

Giant, it made for a very interesting read and had me on the edge of my seat, but I just cannot bring myself to believe it... I very much WANT to believe it, but find it hard after SO MANY hoaxes over the years... And what puts me off the most is the guys name "Sid Terror".. Obviously a pseudonym, but very far fetched.

Also apparently Dick May, who used to be in charge at MGM/UA and then at Turner, said on another forum that no nitrate was ever kept in that facility. He also said that if it was there, they definately would have found it. And apparently everyone was saying how they had such great faith in Dick May.

I don't know whether to E-mail Robert (Bob) Gitt, as he is the ultimate film restorer in the US, and see what he thinks?? If anyone would know if the story was true, he would...

I would love to think this was true, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
