This is a wonderful screwball comedy of the Frank Capra type but directed by John Ford. It stars Edward G. Robinson in a dual role. One as a gangster named "Killer" Mannion and the other as a meek mild accountant, Arthur Ferguson 'Jonesy' Jones, who happens to look like public enemy number one Killer Mannion. The twists and turns in the plot will keep you captivated throughout and the split screen sequences are almost flawless for the time. It also stars Jean Arthur as his secret love at the office. Edward G's performances in both roles are very fun. Especially to see him move back and forth between two opposing character types. If you have never seen this film it's well worth a look. A solid 4 out of 5 stars!

This was on a couple of weeks ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ages since I last saw it and I'd forgotten the plot which made it all the better to watch. I like anything with Jean Arthur in it. She was on last week as well in THE TALK OF THE TOWN (1942) whose similar title could make the two films confusing but I messed up the timer and only saw the last half hour of this one on FilmFour Plus One!

Kevin! Great film and good rating, my man!!! Eddie G is in rare form in a dual role, just love watching him get sauced in the bosses office with Wally Ford!! Very funny film with some very serious bits, as Eddie G shows off his gangster and comedic sides! HUGE thumbsup.gif
