Introducing CalifDude....I'm 44, live in beautiful central coast area of Calif....discovered GAOH thru link given on IMDB Classic Film. Have been hanging out on IMDB on Classic Film and Silents boards. My profile tells about my interests. I have Netflix and supplement that with going to theaters, but I'm very picky about which movies I want to spend two hours of my life seeing. I tend to not care much for blockbusters and average current openings, go to the art movie house more than regular. Last couple of movies seen in theaters were Capote (great), Good Night and Good Luck (only average) and The Constant Gardener (great). Last few Netflix were The Beat My Heart Skipped (awful), PaPa (no good) and Unfinished Piece for the Player Piano (excellent). Some favs are Fritz Lang silents, silent comedies...saw Harold Lloyd's Speedy on TCM tv (superb comedy) last week... Kieslovsli, Tarkovsky, Ozu, noirs. and unusual movies like Mulholland Drive, Memento and The Machinist. Like to see foreign movies with subtitles, especially French, and try to catch on to a little of the other language. Recently saw The Steam Roller and the Violin (wonderful 45 minutes) and enjoyed picking at the Russian alphabet in the credits.

I've seen you before on IMDb. Welcome. It's my first day here as well.

You'll have to be sure to visit the Directors forum. Maybe you could start the Fritz Lang, Andrei Tarkovsky, Harold Lloyd or Yasujiro Ozu thread.
