1. If a character has already been accepted, no, you may not apply as them. We will not replace an established member.

2. In that same vein, if there is a username registered as a character you would like to apply as, but their application has not yet been accepted, feel free to apply as that character.

3. If there is a character already registered but not yet accepted that you were going to apply as-sure you could apply as them-but why not just find another obscure canon? We like diversity!

4. You have three days to complete an application from the time you register. HERE'S A HINT: DON'T USE THE EXCUSE "YEAH THINGS GOT REALLY BUSY SORRY" WHEN ASKING FOR AN EXTENSION. 99% OF THE TIME, WE WON'T WAIT. WHY? BECAUSE THAT'S A LAME EXCUSE. GEE, HOW 'BOUT MAKING SURE YOU CAN COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION, UH, LET'S SEE, BEFORE YOU REGISTER?
5. If two people apply as the same character, the Admin reserve the right to wait until both are completed to chose the best.

6. Follow the application template. It’s there for a reason.
7. Your application should showcase an average of what you can do, or the very best-not something that’s been hastily thrown together for the sake of completion. Remember, you’re trying to impress.

8. If your application was denied once, you have a second chance to reapply. However, if that second application is denied that’s all you’ll get for that one character. Which isn’t to say that you can’t try again later with a different character, once you get a better grasp on whatever was found lacking in your application.

9. Check the play-by list. Don’t use someone that’s already in use.

10. When registering as the character you’re applying for, use lowercase letters. Yes, include the middle initial Example: lily m. evans

11. If applying for a recognized canon, we expect you to know the canon. For example, if you applied as James Potter and made him a sandy blonde prefect who never got detention and was a do-gooder, you’d be laughed out of town. No, we wouldn’t be laughing with you. We’d be laughing at you.

12. If applying as an obscure canon, we want to get to know your character! Who are they? What are they like? What are the important things in their past that made them who they are? We want to be enraptured-engrossed, like a good book we can’t step away from. Tell us all. None of this vague references to some action of impending doom that shaped her forever. Spell it out.

13. Yes, our canon list is incomplete-if there’s someone missing that you’d like us to add, register as the character and then message one of the admin with how you know it’s a canon!

14. Likewise, most of the obscure canons are adjustable. Ages can be changed, genders can be switched and siblings can be added. Houses can frequently be altered as well. In that same vein, adults can be made into students.

15. This is, let it be said, a literate site. This means something more than just a basic grasp of grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and your shift key is mandatory. You get cookies if you have a spiffy vocabulary.

16. ‘Don’t be stupid’. That covers every single one of these things (well, barring the more obscure clarifications.) We’re smart people here, but we’re also very friendly. If you have questions, we’d be glad to help you out.
