FAQ’s:


Q: What is Robani IV: Return to Exile?

A: It’s a role play board that houses three separate role play genres: Fantasy, Science Fiction and Cyberpunk. It is a free form board, meaning that members are free to create whatever they want without having to worry about gaming regulations or restrictions.


Q: How many characters am I allowed to play?

A: You can play as many characters as you think you can keep up with. You may register as many accounts as you’d like, or work with a single member name and have links in your signature to all your various character creations.


Q: What is the content on Robani IV like?

A: While many members are seasoned pros at RPing, we pride ourselves on being for everyone, no matter their skill level. We were all n00bs once, so we welcome new and/or inexperienced members.


Q: What’s the rating for Robani IV?

A: We have a standing PG-13 rating, but do not censor our members’ creativity. If you decide to write provocative content, you may do so, but please label your more ‘salty’ threads with a disclaimer stating that the content is mature.


Q: Am I allowed to play a character I created for the fantasy genre in the science fiction section?

A: No, there are no crossovers allowed. If you decide to revamp your character’s profile, you may do so to make them suitable for whichever genre you wish to play.


Q: What skills, magics, items and abilities am I allowed to have?

A: Anything you wish. But, the more you power-play/g-mode, the less likely you are to be able to write with other members because they will roll their eyes and laugh at you.


Q: Can I play as a god?

A: No. See above question as to why. Yet, you may play as an immortal creature for what its worth.


Q: Are their any race restrictions to the character I play?

A: Not really. We’ve laid out what types of genres are acceptable in each of the three sections here. You may play as a Drow in Robani, yet you may not play as a Drow in space. Feel free to create you own races, and always remember that if you have a doubt or question, just ask.


Q: Where do I go if I have a problem with another member of the board?

A: We encourage all members to air out their grievances on the Complaint Board in a public setting. The reason behind this is that secret conversations behind closed doors or by the staff alone may breed resentment, paranoia or contempt. We know it is impossible for everyone to get along all the time. Robani has a rich history of being a community in all senses of the word, we are like a family and everyone knows families fight. We frown upon holding grudges and would prefer to beat an issue to death before letting go of it without properly solving the problem. No one is going to defame or oust you because you have a problem.


Q: What happens if I break a rule?

A: You’ll know about it and the staff will take steps to correct you. The punishments begin with a verbal warning (and the donning of the Hubcap of Shame), to an increased warning level, and finally banning. The only exceptions to that escalation are plagiarism, OOC racism, bigotry, and sexism: The staff of Robani defines these things as inexcusable.


Q: If I want to PM a staff member about something, who do I go to?

A: The Staff Monkey handles all official staff questions. Most of the time though, we encourage you to write your question, complaint or suggestion on the Complaint Board.


Q: Does Robani IV have a Chat Box (Cbox)?

A: Yes, on the top of the board to the right of [Application] is the link to our Cbox. Simply click this link and the cbox will pop-up in a new window. You must press the 'join' button on the bottom right hand side of the pop-up in order for it to refresh. Rules for the Cbox can be found here


Q: Can I play the same character in all three genres?

A: Yes and No. While crossovers are not allowed, if you have three different profiles for Jane Smith, each one specifically tailored for the specific genres, then yes. But the crossover rules still apply. If Jane Smith is a Drow in Robani, she cannot be a Drow in space or Newark. But if you put in the legwork, we have no problems with it. When in doubt though, just ask one of the staffies.
