OOC: Nahstaa, do you usually RP on Chat Rooms? I don't know, you just give me that feeling... I'm always the only girl in RPs I participate in...*sighs heavily* - - - - - - After doing a swift check, Koori leaned back - this ship was fairly new, and whomever had been Operator before her had been neat and organized, leaving Icelight very little to do. Tapping a button on her headset's control so that she was now speaking to the bridge, she said in an even voice, "Good to go." Cutting off the link to the bridge, she allowed herself a quick, catlike stretch before her eyes locked onto the screens of code once again.

As he listened to the assorted acknowledgements from the crew members, Antoninas Londo strapped himself into the co-pilot chair. His hands dancing expertly over the controls, Londo acknowledged the pilot.
Activating the comm, Londo brought up a channel with the control tower.
"This is Captain Antoninas Londo, commanding officer of the Artemis to the control tower. We are ready for launch..."
Acknowledged Artemis, you are next to launch... Good luck and may you return without loss...
"Acknowledged tower..."
Shaking his head, Antoninas glanced at the pilot and said, "Are you ready to do this?"

Koori sighed. She sincerely hoped she wasn't going to get lagged from the sudden jump from one ship to another; this was the third such ship she had jumped to. I hope this is just another routine mission, she thought almost lazily, unconciously echoing the well-wishes from the control tower. I don't want anything to go wrong on my watch...

Kyo cracks his knuckles and accepts the disk, then pulls another out of his pocket and says quietly "These are some of my own masterpieces, too." With the ship beginning to rumble, Kyo straps himself into his patchwork seat and prepares for the jolt of taking off.

Nodding at the pilot, Antoninas said, "I'll take us away, Crash... Once we get deep into the tunnels, its your baby..."
Without another word, Antoninas took the controls into his hands. With a deft move, Antoninas raised the Artemis from its position on the dock. Swiftly and fluidly, Antoninas flew the hovercraft out of Zion and into the abyss beyond. As he concentrated on flying through the multitude of obstacles, Antoninas checked the myriad of consoles, making sure the Artemis was functioning properly.
When he felt that everything was fine, Antoninas glanced at Crash and said, "Okay, Crash, its your baby... Bring us to rendevuous point G..."
Without waiting for a reply, Antoninas rose from his seat and headed towards the engine room...

Kyo though to himself, (Hm, crew just can't get along, I guess. Captain Londo seems to what he's doing - even I don't fly as deftly as he does.) "Mission's on, babe, let's see where this takes us." Kyo popped Londo's disc into a nearby terminal and began inspecting the weaponry.

In a cool, light voice, Antoninas replied, "Kyo, that would depend on how long Crash decides to take to get to the rendevuous point... Although I would love to try out the new sniper rifle that I uploaded, I can't. We don't have time to get sidetracked. We have orders to pick up an important package..."

"Well, while we're on the way, were you given any further briefing? The contents of the package will be confidentai, no doubt, but what kind of security are we to expect? Are any Agents aware of our presence? If so, you may find me more valuable than you will expect." Kyo's smirk began transforming into Maestro's waiterly smile.

At hearing Crash's voice speaking in her headset, she jerked awake. She hadn't meant to fall asleep, and a guilty look flashed on her face for a moment before it slipped back into her usual impassive look. "Everythng's still stable over here," she muttered after looking over all her screens quickly. Talking more loudly, she said into her headset, "I'll need more info on the package; that way I'll be able to put you guys into the Matrix as close as possible to the package."

Gazing serenely at the man in front of him, Antoninas replied, "All I know is that the name of the package is the Black Sheep and is supposedly guarded by some agents..."
Allowing the words to sink in, Antoninas whirled around on the balls of his feet as he headed towards the main computer core...

Kyo's clenched his fists and muttered under his breath. "What's... taking so long..." He knew that she was in trouble, that she could die any minute now, and the crew seemed to be taking forever. He pushed off of his knees and followed the captain to the computer room.
"Unless we've got more information to know we have to get into the Matrix now. The longer that we spend here the great the chance that we'll be spotted or that the Agents will be alerted of our presence. We've got the weapons, we've got the crew, but we don't have time. I've gotten around agents before and we've got a better chance if we're not in a large group. With my Hawks, Classizion, and UZI we'll be able to get through any human guards and stand a decent change against an Agent. I'm no One, but I know that a group of humans stand a chance against an Agent. And besides, I've got a trick up my sleeve..."
Kyo smiled, not his usual grin, but the dashing smile of Maestro.
"I am aware of my seeming... hysterical tone, yet my dedication to the mission is paramount. If all that we are aware of is that there are Agents guarding this "Black Sheep" in some complex then we'll need a plan. As gunner I can either assist in infiltration or provide support from afar. The weaponry that I have with me makes me far better suited to infiltarting the base. However, we do not even know where this thing is and if we're searching blindly in a large group we are most definately going to be caught.
"I suggest two infiltration teams and one support group. The two infiltartion teams will enter the compound and search for the package while the support team will either wait for them and assist in an escape route or provide a distraction while one or both infiltration teams move in farther or retreat. No one of us here is a Morpheus or a Neo, but a two on one match with little movement space and powerful weapons could be favorable to us.
"For armament the Sniper Rifles would obviously be best suited for the support team; remote explosives would also be helpful. I expect us to be indoors, and though a silenced weapon is useless against Agents, automatic and low-yield explosive weapons are difficult to dodge in a small corridor.
"Captain, with your permission I ask if I may enter the compound as an infiltrator. I am aware of there being... friction between us and in a group we could impede upon the progress of the mission. I am fairly certain that you wish to be on the infiltrating team and my weaponry skills would make me better suited to entered the compound, despite the fact that we are both proficient in the sniper rifle. If you are discovered I can plant explosives within the base to cover for your getaway or to temporarily eliminate Agents. There may be something that you are not telling us about this 'Black Sheep,' which I can understand, but you are best suited to finding it out of all of us.
"Well, Captain, what do you think of my proposition?"

"No..." Antoninas replied simply as he slowly set up the computers for insertion. "There is too much risk in sending so many of us into the Matrix..."
Whirling around, Antoninas glanced at each and every single member of his crew as he spoke, "I want two of you to come with me into the Matrix. Two people who are willing to follow every single one of my orders. Which ones of you want to come?"

Kyo stepped forward. "You know that you'll need me and though I have not yet been given the opportunity, I can follow your orders. I still feel that we could use a Support team of sorts but I understand your concern, especially in the matter of a hasty escape. However, above all else, I am ready. If we were in dire circumstances, any idiot could fire an EMP while I was away, but they won't have to do that." He looked at Koori again and focused on her a moment before turning away. "I'm ready to go whenever you are."

"I've read your information sheet, Kyo. You have more experience as a sniper than as an infiltrator. You should stay back and cover someone else and I as we enter the building..." Antoninas replied as he looked over the other assembled crew members. Shaking his head as thoughts raced through his head, Antoninas could not choose the last member of the strike team...

Kyo resisted the urge to stand up. He swallowed the words coming out of his throat...
Captain, I must protest. I have been doing some of the most dangerous infiltrating missions - I have even held Agents at bay with nothing but my bare hands. I'm far more qualified... forget about it. If he's going to waste me as a sniper then I'll just have to go it my own way. I'll stick to my plan and he can stick to his, with his weapons. Besides, if the captain decides to be a jerk, I can just say that an Agent found me and transform into Maestro.
"Very well, captain. I understand your concern and will be supporting you from above."

OOC: Look who's back. Gah. ----------------------- Koori had been preparing her programs, and when she was finished she simply watched the (if truth be told) rather melodramatic scene with cold eyes. "I, obviously, cannot go. I'm an Operator, not an infiltrator. However, Captain, everything's ready to send you and whomever you choose to accompany you into the Matrix." That said, she leaned back slightly and waited.

With a heavy sigh, Antoninas closed his eyes, his hands rising to massage his forehead. Already, he could feel the coming of a headache. His tone stern and unwavering, Antoninas confronted his crew. "I know that some of you don't like me, chafing under the stern hand of my decisions. My decisions, which many of you believe to be flawed, have reasons behind them... All of you are talented in your own way. The only untalented, expendable person aboard this ship is me... I am old and will soon grow useless... All of you have a lifetime of service ahead of you... A lifetime of war against the machines... I only live now, waiting for the falling comet of my doom... I embrace this wait for my death..."
With a soft laught, Antoninas continued. "Frequently, the decisions that I have made have just been short term solutions that lead only to long term problems... However, this decision of mine is selfless... You are the future of Zion... You must survive to continue fighting... I, however distinguished, am still an old man... I cannot be compared with any of you, lacking the vigor, reflexes, instincts, and capabilities of youth... Experience can only go so far..."

OOC: Sorry if I'm trying to forcefully move a plot along, but we REALLY need one.
Kyo walked forward, paused, sighed, and then spoke with a tone that displayed more than a hint of compassion. "Captain... I admit I despise your past decisions have angered me, but you must understand that you are the most important person on this mission. I have read the reports on you and you are more experienced than any of us - that experience is the most valuable commodity on this ship. Realize this - even though you may have angered your crew, that does not mean that you have lost our respect."
Kyo paused again, taking in the captain's exposing of the emotional wound.
"Your word is final, and I understand that. However, if I am not needed here, there is a second mission that I was given to undertake. The "Black Sheep" isn't the only thing needed in the Matrix, there ship, Iphicles is-"
Wait... just because the captain is showing that he's hurt doesn't make him any less of a bastard... bastard doesn't matter, but should I really reveal my secret mission? Well, it's impossible to conceal it now. Fine.
"-The Iphicles is... was... carrying special weapon's schematics out of the Matrix. I have no idea what the Black Sheep is, it must be important, but I believe that the package in the Iphicles is paramount. The weapons schematics could lead to turning the tides against the machines, but from within the Matrix.
"Four days ago, the Iphicles was on a basic scouting mission, but it discovered an ancient area of the Matrix which was having conflicts with upgrades to the newest system. Within the bug-infested area lay a tear in the Matrix - an opening to core programming data. I don't know exactly what they acquired, but transmissions indicated that they managed to get out of the Matrix, but their ship was downed and they sent a runner through the Matrix to get help. Two good men died to bring us that news, and if the crew is still alive, we don't have much time to find where the runner is hiding and get that data. Therefore, Antonidas, instead of being forced to abandon the group after the mission, and since you say that you do not require my services, I ask that I be given permission to search for the runner, with or without assistance. Of course, if you could divulge some information on the "Black Sheep," perhaps we could use it to find the Iphicles..."
