TOTALLY. I managed to crank out an 8 page paper the day I got back from Mexico. I didn't LIKE doing it, but that's a different story. dry.gif

Got a quote for the Mazdaspeed kit today, and it looks like the insurance $$ for the stock bumper, appearance kit, painting etc. will cover the painted side skirts AND the painted front bumper (don't really like the rear under spoiler). Plus, since it was a "no fault" the claim won't even increase my insurance rates!! I'm pretty thrilled. I'll have to thank the asshole who hit my car if I ever meet him. headbanger.gif

yeah, thats what we get for introducing the rx8 to the general public. I fear that we are going to lose more of them to people who don't check oil or coolant, and who don't like to do routine maintainence. Then complain that the rotary isn't reliable. That along with those that are going to think that the 50/50 weigh distribution will keep it from sliding at 90 miles in a turn. Oh well, who knows, maybe mazda made adjustments for the retarded masses.

I know exactly what you mean eternalblinkerman. Most of the RX-8 owners here in abilene, TX are mechanically retarded to begin with. I tried talking to one guy about his rotary engine, and he looked at me like a damn retard. These 'Newbie Rotary Owners' need to know the facts and needs of their cars. There's alot of history behind the rotary engine, and they just don't get it. LStarr and Jercs are great rotorheads. They know and are aware of the reliability of the rotary engines from the past, and they watch out from anything happening to their cars.

Are you talking about the very front mesh? If so youi'll be happy to know air doesn't actually flow through there. I'll find a pic of the front end of a the rx-8 for you to see.

Hey now hey now, I've ran into my fair share of intellectually-challenged 7 owners, too. Can't judge an entire vehicle community by 4-5 owners.

We'll have forced induction soon (plenty of prototypes already out there) and we'll figure out our ECM soon, too. After all this R&D is a bit further along, I'll be boltin' on some forced induction, and THEN you FDs had better watch out. =)

All hail, the mighty Force Fed Renesis. Heh heh. j/k.

We have a supercharger out, engine management hasn't been figured out yet but it will soon, we have a couple turbo applications that are awaiting proper tuning, too. By next spring I bet the 8 has about 6 - 7 FI "in-production" applications to choose from. Not to mention some nifty nitrous kits. (60-75 shots, only, of course, don't want to blow that perty rotary now do we?). :)

Jercs & I are working closely with a couple performance shops that are doing some R&D on aftermarket parts, so we have a pretty good view of what's coming out & going to be available. We'll keep you posted as our dyno numbers continue to rise. :)
