would be very interesting if this did become the next big thing..... again.....

I saw the first two episodes. Tonight I've been fighting with whores and bitches so I couldn't catch it.

It seems cool, I like it but I highly doubt it will pick up any sort of 'pro' level following.

for one it's extremely dangerous and unpredictable. Not many crazies in this world to partake. MMA has had a massive following since the 70s, just not in the US. Heavy armor jousting has been defunct for centuries and unlike MMA which was progressive from Boxing and kickboxing jousting is just simply passe.

Sir Lambert of Lancs - November 23, 2011 11:41 AM (GMT)
Sure it is unpredictable but I feel that any thing can grow if it has more than one group doing it. To me the show was nothing but one group guys fighting each other even though there were traveling to tournaments....

It'd be cool as hell to DO. I think I'll YouTube the episodes and catch up!

Thanks Lam!

start a jousting fantasy league and it could be huge.

it does look interesting. not sure I would do it, though. i think having an old-style tournament including melees, jousting, etc would be pretty interesting too. make it realistic, though, like how they did it during the middle ages.

Dinadan of Logris - November 23, 2011 10:13 PM (GMT)
Too dangerous, like DP said.

Sir Lambert of Lancs - November 23, 2011 11:09 PM (GMT)
too realistic!!!!

how about all the sports where 2 guys beat the ###### out each other for a much longer length of time!

fook making it look realistic it should be no other way! i would do it in a hard beat....once i learn to ride properly :D

Dinadan of Logris - November 24, 2011 01:32 AM (GMT)
Yea, those certainly have dangers as well, but it's more under control.

Barrett of Maidstone - November 24, 2011 01:45 AM (GMT)
They should definitely introduce the ear pull :D

Like Din said two guys fighting is a controlled situation. There are too many variables when it comes to jousting that makes it too risky. Horses can get out of control on a moment for whatever reason and in a charge the jouster probably couldn't find the reigns in time. Not to mention the main point and that is you cannot control the splinter/breakage of the lance.

IF it ever becomes big they should avoid the US since US 'fans' do nothing but heckle and boo like in boxing and mma, might frighten the ponies. :P

Also what insurance covers Jousting?

Drowningpool - November 30, 2011 02:24 AM (GMT)
The Main guy is too much of a ###### to the people who are jousting FOR him...

20k prize money? the fuuuuuuck. cheap pay off for a tourney, and 2 guys fighting in the RING is a controlled situation, a typical street fight, now thats different.

Barrett of Maidstone - November 30, 2011 11:29 AM (GMT)
fight club.. oops

well yeah its cheap since its being paid by the same man fighting in it and organizing it!

oh he cant find like big sponsers?

Dagonet of Rus - December 19, 2011 12:22 PM (GMT)
Looks like fun, shame jousting wasn't continued as a major spectator sport; is the only way anything like that could get past the liberal nazi's in the uk. Hell, breathing would be punishable by a life sentence if one of the main channels decided to run a story/pogrom on it.
