So, I'm in this group at school called WIREworks; we get together weekly and we're a theatre group, but we're all aspects of theatre: directing, acting, writing, singing, dancing, lights, stage crew, props, etc. And each week our advisor gives the playwrites (that's me and a few others) words to write a VERY SHORT (ten minute max) script on. The words has to be included some way; the play can be about it, the play can only mention it, etc.

This week my word is take-out and I CANNOT think of anything worth writing. Someone want to bounce a few ideas off me? PLEASE?! I'll give you cookies! [:

Hey :)

Well I dunno if this will be helpful at all but I thought why not?

When I think of 'take-out', I think of a fight, like take him out.

Although, there is the whole food thing, which I think is kind of more what you were going for. You could have a story revolving around either of those things. Although, you could write something completely random and just have characters ordering take-out. *Shrugs* i have no idea whether that is even coherrent but I hope I helped :)

When I see take-out, the first thing I think of Chinese food!

I haven't read many plays, even though I should...:/

Anyways, it could be something like a little trip into the mind of a Chinese delivery man/woman.

Or, something of what they see everyday.

Hope it helps, though it really seems kinda stupid to me... ^_^

Oh, that's a really good idea! I'm so behind with this, but that's such a good idea. Thank you!

I hope I'm not too late about this, but I would think that take-out food would be something that everyone would expect, right? I am a huge fan of short films, and some of the time, the title of a short file has very little to do with the actual plot, which are the films I find most interesting. I would second the totally random thing and just have your character(s) show up at a drive through window, or something like that. It could be a really cool one-act play with one scene so that all the complexity is in the dialogue, it would have a huge impact on the viewers. :D
