How can I get Sorted into the house I want?

Once you have TEN posts, you can go to the Sorting Hat, where you can say which house you'd like to be sorted into.

What size should my avatar and signature be?

Avatar should be no bigger than 100x100 px, and the signature no more than 500px wide and 300px tall. If your signature is any bigger, you'll be asked to make it smaller.

If I made a mistake in my post, how do I fix it?

There is a very neat EDIT button on the top right corner of every post, right between the quote an report buttons. Please, do not double post, but instead edit your old post.

Should I rate all links I post?

Yes. When you post a link to another site or your author's page, yo should provide the rating as well. 12+ is appropriate for all ages, 15+ is slightly higher, usually added when there is mild sexual content or scenes of mild violence. Mature is for content appropriate for those of age (18 and up). And, please, rate the links in your signature, too! Thanks. ^_^

How does the warning system work?

It's very simple and works just like on the HPFF forums:

You can only see your own warn level.

If it says "0%", that’s fine - you've not been warned. If you get a higher warn level, then there’ll be a warning note explaining why.

How can I change my member’s title?

You can’t. It changes automatically when you get more posts - just let it surprise you!

Which posts increase my post count, and which don’t?

Any posts increase your total post count. Exceptions are:

• The Common Rooms.
• Off Topic and all subforums (Games, Parodies)

... simply because these sections are here to have fun and get to know your fellow members, and have little or nothing to do with writing.

How do I use the cbox?

Once you type your chosen nickname, you can click 'profile' on the bottom right corner of the cbox. A pop-up window will appear, where you'll be asked to provide a password. In doing so, nobody else will be able to post under your name. This is for security purposes.

Some topics are just gone!

It is possible that they are still there: At the bottom of the list of topics in a forum, set "Showing Topics from" to "the beginning" instead of "the last 30 days".

However, if "your" topic still doesn’t show up, but you’re sure it should be there, contact a Prefect or Staff member. Topics don’t usually get deleted, but they may land in a special trash section which you just can’t see. They can be restored.

Why don’t I have my own smilie?

Only Admins and Mods have their own smilies per say. Smilies are also given out as prizes in competitions - just take part and you might win one!
