Try an Italian BE3 atomiser, the LML E3 is completely different and has less air holes.
Get one from a Rally, or Mk1 PX as they were the best, the newer BE3's have smaller holes than the early ones, they restricted them to meet emissions regs. -------------------- Ello, ello, ello!

Here you go Ade. There's 12 of these holes around the shaft. They seem to me as if they're slightly larger than me LML one!

That looks better than the E3, it has more holes and they are larger diameter to let more air flow.
The BE3 has the same amount of holes as the pic of the E1 but the holes on a BE3 are 1.5mm, can't tell how big they are on the E1 pic but I would guess around 1mm? I have some converted to BE3 spec I will trade your E3, send it to me with a postage paid/stamped return envelope, i will convert yours and keep it for the next person. I use my milling machine to convert them with a 1.5mm drill. -------------------- Ello, ello, ello!
