SBW News:...... Chelski & Shazza have moved to the Lord Hill pub in Uxbridge.......SBW Party 4 - Feb 13th..Roade Ex-Servicemens Club, Northants. All the usual SBW sounds, if you're expecting the norm - sorry, we don't play that game....... Seen it mentioned on another thread that the Scottish National may be moving from Kelso to a West coast venue. Can anyone tell me where?

No idea but my own thoughts are that it is time for a change, as great as the venue is. And maybe somewhere that can hold more numbers. I was last down in 2008 and I thought it had gotten too big for itself. Couldn't manage this year for a few reasons but after talking to a few that were it seems it was even worse.

a few things are gonna be changed for next year at kelso

the biggest of which is a increase in the cost of parking a car
it is a scooter rally after all
this year the car park was a nightmare i had to open up a second carpark at half 7 friday evening and its usually not opened till sat afternoon

imho there were far too many folk there that were not interested in a scooter rally and were only there to see bad manners

basically there were alot of cunts there

a well known person on the scottish scene got punched for askin someone to put out a bonfire !

i aint heard anything about it moving and im on the no1s

for more info mark ask isabell thats what she is there for
might have been better askin this on the number 1s forum maybe coz you will get a straight answer

im too busy organising stuff for next year to worry about the year after just yet but il be happy to ask any questions you have at the next meeting in january and get back to you

Why not combine a bonfire, cunts ,cars and Bad Manners next time ?
That would rid the scooter scene of a lot of its contentious issues.

seems its a problem all over ,to many into the music or just the main band ,no interest in scooters or our scene ,its getting worse and is all over, and now affecting some of the smallest rallys ,it will all end in tears and fuck us up again .i wrote a letter in scootering bout simlar issues ,club does getting sold out ,then you here 2 3rds of the do wer local non scooterists,,people promoting does as scootering events wen the music is just aimed at one style ,and open door policys just to get the revenue in ,mainly on a sat nite, but fucking it for the scooterists who have supported all weekend

good point well put olly

this is mainly what we were discussing for 4hrs at our last meeting and measures are being taken

all we can do is learn

im sure isabell is gonna do a statement in scootering soon

well i think that was said, it was getting late on a sunday and i was choking for a pint and i had to think about getting back to the other side of the country so i was too busy pushing for the next meeting to be at my local pub by that point

Place has just got too small for the amount of folk there.

Get a huge circus tent to help with the overload. I no its not been allowed before tho.

Hate the fact that cant go into do on the sat night without being squashed & bar closes way too early.

Im Scottish tho so I support it even tho it aint one of my favourite rallies but it a national. Still dont no half the folk that seem to appear at it tho fb42.gif

no body likes the route ,but i must say the id membership card was a good thing in a way ,also its a shame that we cant do pre tickets to scooterists only and pay on the gate if any space on the day to any one else .thing that gets my back up is that if a rally is put on ,and a main headline is on on the fri /sat nite ,then if the room they play only holds 250 but the rally has let 350 on site ,then thers gunna be some pissed of people, thing is they have all payed the same and have the right to see the acts,

I've always liked Scottish Nationals and although i've done about 10 I've have never felt I've done as many as i would have liked.

Agree definately too many cars last year and as said elsewhere hangers on for the band, but fair play to ya it sounds like the comments have been listened too and a trip up the A68 is on again this year fb19.gif

I agree about people just going to see Bad Manners, If the bands werent on the flyers/adverts etc... and were only announced on theday of the rally I wonder how many would turn up? I know i would still go who ever was on, theres more to a rally than the band

and dont get me started about fires!!!! lol

dont know about the venue being outgrown by the amount of people? its massive for fucks sake! more than half the grass area is never used round the back. I went there with the blues back in 99 to the MAG bike rally and there were about 5 or 6 thousand there. way more than we get. and they had about 4 marquees, 3 stages, a stunt show, loads of stalls you name it. we must be thinking about a different place i tell thee cause kelso showground is huge. just needs temp facilities brought in to suit the amount of people, same as most places.

to be honest iv only seen 2 bands i wanted to see at kelso, i suggest bands every year and none of them make it to the short list coz the no1s committee go with the majority vote so iv gave up suggesting

told them bad manners was a bad idea from the start, but hey lesson learned

Main do is way too small for amount of folk wanting in.

Bar area too small.

Needs more showers/toilets etc

So answer is as Dunf says get the facilities in.

I did say get a huge marquee tent but im 100% sure I was told it wasnt allowed?!?!

Fook it, what do i no anyway! ninja.gif

bands at rallies should be open air day time or early evening.

Hate it when night do stops & shite band comes on.

Aye!!

I never go for the band, I go for the Crack with mates I might only see a couple of times a year.

I was chatting to some kids at Kelso this year and asked them what scoots they rode.
None! They were just there for the Manners.
