Personality: Kolton is quiet, articulate, caring, some say he can be a bit bland, and he is a bit uptight. In most situations Kolton is on the back burner, he doesn’t have a loud strong personality that would make him the life of a party or any form of group gatherings. When he does speak and tell about himself though he is very sure of what he is saying, making him seem a bit confident when in actuality he is insecure about himself. When some people are insecure about themselves they start to put others down to pull themselves up, but that is just the opposite for Kolton, he is very emotional and caring about how others feel. He isn’t a huge fan of change though, making him a bit boring seeming or bland, he would paint his whole house white rather than a whole bunch of different colors. Kolton is also a bit uptight, everything he does seems to need to be planned or else it throws him all off balance and his life (in his eyes) becomes chaos. All in all Kolton isn’t someone you wouldn’t want to hang around.
Simply, Kolton isn’t outgoing. People often describe Kolton as being reserved and quiet. He wouldn’t be the person that everyone would gravitate to at a party, he’d probably be the guy hanging out at the snacks or sitting on the couch talking one on one quietly with someone. Some people don’t like to be around Kolton for this reason, but others like to have him around to help balance out the craziness of some situations, he can sort of act like some peoples rock, because they know he’ll always stay sane. Kolton’s reserved, quietness, allows him to be articulate when he speaks.
Kolton is very articulate and descriptive when he speaks, because he is always on the sidelines of things. He doesn’t speak much in large groups because he is so reserved and so has time to gather his thoughts, so when he does speak he sounds very sure and confident. It is more of a faked confidence though. In reality Kolton isn’t very confident about himself and his capabilities; and that is another reason why he is very quiet at times. He can hold a conversation though when the need is there, or when it is with someone he really cares about.
Kolton is very caring to his friends and the other important people in his life. No; he isn’t the life of the party or the one night stand...he is more of the boyfriend type. He knows how to treat people with respect and he knows how to do what is right for them. He's the romantic guy; he’s the guy you’d marry and be sure you'd stay married. Being caring and articulate though isn’t always the best thing to be; especially in a college...some say he is boring.
Looking at Kolton from afar and not really understanding him you’d immediately think he’s just another face in the crowd. Just another person living out their boring lives. His clothes look boring and when you see him at a party how he holds himself looks boring. In fact talking to him just casually without getting in depth is boring. Kolton doesn’t want to be the boring one though; he wants to stand out...he wants to be the kid with the mohawk or the one with all the friends. Kolton lacks the confidence to really put himself out there though, and so he is just...boring.
One of Kolton’s quirks is that he is a bit uptight and some say ‘OCD’ about things. Things in his room always have to be neat and aligned or else he starts stressing and he has to start fixing them. Having a roommate who is unclean and dirty would be a total nightmare for the uptight Kolton, he wouldn't know what to do. Kolton likes things to be structured, and doesn’t like things in a disarray, or things being chaotic. If things become too hectic he starts to become frustrated and can be a difficult person to be around; these are some of the only times when he’ll come out of his shell.
Appearance: Kolton stands at about five feet ten inches and weighs about one hundred forty-two pounds. He is lean and toned and barely has any fat on his body. He has dark brown hair, usually styled a bit messily but in the good way. He has brown eyes that are set under dark brown eye brows. The rest of his features are pretty bland and boring, a bit like his personality. Koltan isn’t ugly but he isn’t necessarily the hottest guy either. He isn’t one that stands out much in a crowd.
Kolton’s clothing is also a bit boring and not crazy. Its usually a striped shit, or a button down shirt with jeans or khakis. His look can be described as a bit prep or trendy because it really is. Like most people Kolton will wear what is in style for the ‘normal’ people versus what is eccentric or ‘goth’. Kolton cares about how he looks just like he cares about everything in his room and life being in order, but sometimes he wishes he could let himself go crazy for a little bit. It never seems to happen.
Background: Like everything else about Kolton it’s boring. He’s lived a normal life, nothing amazing has really ever happened to him or anything tragic either. He’s lived in a small town in New York all his life and has virtually been restricted to that area until he graduated from highschool. He’s ready to go out and experience new things. He was the first born in his family of four, two parents and younger brother. Grew up in New York and has barely traveled out of New York.
His family were very close knit and loving as he grew up, which lead to his caring nature now. The biggest tragedy his family that he has faced was the death of his grandfather when he was fifteen and some other dead pets along the way. In highschool because Kolton was so quiet he was never really at the top of the food chain, one of the ‘popular’ kids. He was placed nicely in the boring middle...fitting in with the kids that just weren’t good enough to make it to the top, but weren’t low enough that they touched the bottom.
Not really doing much his whole life has prompted Kolton to look for schools out of state and possibly out of the country. He couldn’t find anything that really interested him until after he graduated from highschool and received the letter to Matthias. Taking off he set out on a journey to discover what he was supposed to do in life instead of being the boring old Kolton that he is now.
Sphere: Silence
Outfit: Being a freshman at Matthias and just barely receiving his stave it is quite boring looking, really it is just like a long gnarled walking stick. In its current state it actually fits Kolton’s boring personality and history. Though changes with the stave have already begun to take place as the dark brown wood that it was originally comprised of has started to become pale and almost white in places.
The actual clothing of Kolton’s outft is less boring than you may think. It consists of a shiny white long sleeved shirt with silver buttons. Black pants with silver boots, the boots laces being black also. His pants held up by a silver and white belt. The most noticeable thing about his outfit though is that he wears a mask, something similar to the ones seen in the play “Phantom of the Opera”. The difference though is that this mask is mouthless and completely covers Kolton’s face, the mask is half white and half silver.
Sample Post: Leo rolled his eyes as the New Mutants finally took off with Bobby piloting the ship. It was just like that, the good kid, the jock, gets to do all the best jobs. It wasn't like Bobby was the only one training to drive the Raven the whole team was. Bobby just irked Leo, he didn't really have an explanation why.
Leo sat back then though and tried to remember what the professor had said about teamwork, when he hd openly pointed out Ani and Leo. He had to make an effort during this mission to prove himself. He wanted to show that he could make it to the top of the team and that he could also be a leader. So he kept quiet for the rest of the ride and stared out the window as they headed quickly into the heart of New York City.
It wasn't long until Bobby set the raven down and the team all adorned the codenames they had tried to give themselves, like the X-men. Leo had chosen Crash, after that time he had crashed into the door for the New Mutants choosing ceremony in the danger room. The exited the plane and walked out onto a roof above the grotesque zombies below.
They looked worse then in the video feed the Professor had showed them. They smelt worse too...and sounded worse...everything about them in real life was worse. Leo, or Crash, looked down a ways from where they had set down and could see some mutant powers in the works which he guessed were the X-men fending off the Horsemen or watever the Professor had said they were. "That's disgusting," He said without thinking.
Then Ms. Hayes split them off into teams but let them choose. The two leaders as previously stated were Julian and Bobby. Leo gave a few seconds of thought to who he should choose to go with before finally deciding on Bobby. He was going to work at this teammate thing and prove himself in the Professor's eyes and show him that he was worth it to be on this team. As much as the thought of him and Bobby working together disgusted him.
A few comments from Bobby later they were levitating down to the street in a telekinetic shield made by Bobby, or Scion. Down on the streets it was chaos. There were a few zombies, but it was nothing compared to the ones that were just a few ways away from them. That whorde was huge, it was dense, like a thousand flies of dead humans filling the streets of New York.
They weren't there to kill zombies though. They were there to help the people in danger...and immediatly in front of them there as danger...a building on fire. Screams could be heard from within. Bobby jumped into action, but it didn't seem like what he was doing was helping much. Seemed the flames were too much for him.
"I can try to put out the flames, but I can't do anything else," Bobby said as he gritted his teeth in preparation, "Be ready guys."
"Keep doing what you're doing," Leo said. Then he changed quickly into his lodestone form. "The flames won't hurt me, I can go in and get the people out." Then he set off zooming into the building. The flames glowed off his lodestone skin, but they didn't hurt him. He could barely see through the smoke though. What the hell had caught this building on fire? The zombies?
"Help!" He heard a woman yell. Then a few weak coughs. He zoomed in the direction and he could make out two shapes. It was a mother and daughter, he assumed anyway.
"Hello?" Leo called as he spotted the pair. They were sitting on the floor. "Please, let me help you." He said, but didn't wait for their answer as he heard a crasking as if the floor above was about to come down. He zoomed forward and scooped the pair, one in each arm.
There were screams as he grabbed the woman and her daughter. Luckily the two were light and the augmented strength the lodestone form provided let him carry the pair. He crashed out of the window, which was already broken, and quickly brought the pair to safety, around the corner.
Leaving his teammates by themselves for now.
The woman and her daughter looked up at Leo fear in their eyes. Leo could sense the pieces of a broken car being attracted to him from the corner. "It's ok..." Leo said, "I'm here to help."
"Th-" The young girl opened her mouth. She held no prejudice against the mutant community.
"No honey," Her mom cut her off and pulled her away from Leo to safety. Leo could only frown. Things never changed, even when they saved their lives people were still inconsiderate. Scared. The woman dragged her daughter off by the hand coughing towards the ambulance sirens that were coming their way.
Leo turned back around and was about to zoom off back with his teammates, Jelena and Bobby, Penny and Scion, but he was met face to face with two zombies. They grabbed him, they were stronger than they looked. Leo threw one of them off and blasted off back to his teammates.
He came to a halting stop in front of them. "They're safe n-" He was cut off by a sickening cracking sound as the zombies arms were ripped off by the sudden stop (what is in motion wants to stay in motion). Apparently Leo hadn't shooken off the zombie like he thought he had and now an armless zombie was sent flying towards Penny and Scion.
"Shit!"
