Personality: Somber and introspective. Doesn't talk much. Very loyal to Gyeong Family.

History: Nigel was born in what is now Little England, when the city was still known as Busan. His parents were English immigrants who had come over to avoid the trouble that had been brewing in their homeland. He spent much of his young life with a small gang of street thugs, running errands and doing odd jobs for the men his father worked with, criminals all. For a time his father worked for the Geyong Family as a money launderer, but was caught taking a little extra for himself and killed for his discrepancies. Nigel, then 14, spent what little money he had earned for himself doing oddjobs around the neighborhood to track down the man who had killed his father so that he could take revenge. After gunning the man down the family found Nigel quickly and took him captive. Seeing potential, instead of killing him outright the family offered Nigel a job. They sent him to kill a man who owed the family money, and after successfully completing the task the family offered him a position as a low-level shooter. Seeing the money and lifestlye of a mafia assassin, he accepted. After many years of working his way up the ladder he has secured himself a cushy job as a driver for one of the underbosses, Kang-Dae Pan. Whereas not in a real position of power many of the lesser thugs who work for the family look up to him as an accomplished shooter (hitman) and for his ability to find people who get themselves "lost." He has been driving for several years now and has gotten good at fixing up the cars as well as avoiding the police.

There's only one thing that doesn't fit with the forum's setting, and it shouldn't affect your character too much anyway.

If you character was born in Little England, they'd still be born in Mandrashee, which is technically an American city, albeit in an unincorporated. American territory, so your character's nationality would be American, if it were not for one further detail.

The Korean Wars ended in 2086, meaning Edge would be granted to the AU in probably late '86 or sometime in '87. In order to be 32, your character would have had to be born in 2065, a full 22 years before Edge and Mandrashee were granted to the AU. So if your character was still born in the same district, albeit the city being Busan at the time, he would be a straight-up Korean citizen.

The rest of the profile's fitting, though.

Makes sense. I guess I was going more with his ancestry being english. I'll change that. He's a korean citizen, but born to english parents living in a now american city. If that works. I'll make the change.

Changes made. Let me know, and if you ok it then I will commence playing.

Since Wraith allready approved you & you allready posted, it wouldn't make sense to un-approve you, but I'd like to mention a discrepancy in your history, or at least an unlikelyhood. Nigel's father was killed by a hitman of the Gyeong family for betraying them, then without any apparent problem at all he agreed to work for Gyeong family as a hitman who hits people that betrayed them (if I interpretted that correctly) Obviously Nigel was angry about the murder of his father or he wouldn't have had revenge, so its just a bit strange that he's perfectly fine with working for the people who ordered the hit & even going on to do the exact same thing as the man on who he got his revenge. You'd think He'd hate hitmen for the very personal hurt one of them did to him.

Now, your allready approved so this is not mandatory, but if you can now see this as a flaw I think you might want to consider revising it a bit to make your character more believable.

Well, Specter, I completely understand what you're saying, because I too considered that when I was judging the character.

But then I figured that a position in the mafia is generally pretty nice. You get nice suits, good connections, coke whores, yadda yadda yadda. Oh, and on a few occasions, lots of money.

So I figure his character was corrupted into enjoying the life of a jopok, to the point that he does for a living what devastated him as a child. Hypocrisy is realistic, as long as his character plays as a hypocrite.

By the way, Kingsworthy, your character is a total fucking hypocrite. For shame.

Flawed people make for interesting role-playing, so I allowed it. I'm just hoping he doesn't try to make his character some moral authority on others, that would be ridiculous.

Actually yes, he is a hypocrite. And he's a fairly immoral guy. He felt a need for vengeance against the man who killed his father, and would understand if someone came after him, but he doesn't mind working for the people who sent that man cause that's where the money is. He's the kind of guy who would tell a group of people that crime doesn't pay and only leads to ruin, while at the same time telling them to stay on the floor of the bank he was robbing. He's just not a good person. Tell you what though, I'll go back and revise a bit so it makes at least a little more sense.

What? No! I admired the hypocrisy! It's a great break from all the role-players in every other forum who are all trying to play Mary Sue-like morally high heroic characters!
