Should people be able to have guns just because? What are your points of view of gun control for civilians? I think that it's okay for people to buy and arm themselves with guns, but shouldn't use it foolishly like some people do. If someone comes into your home and tries to hurt you or steal from you, I think that's reasonable for you to defend yourself.

My mother took a gun course a few years ago so that she would be able to carry a gun around, but she never retrieved her license. I also think it's okay for civilians to have guns in their home, but can only use it if they want to defend themselves.

I agree with yansy civilians should be able to bear arms but only to use it for defense otherwise you shouldn't be able to have a gun with you

Agreed, but people should only be allowed to bear sidearms, why would a civilian need an assault rifle to defend themselves? Course, I live in Canada, our gun laws kick your gun laws' arses.

haha I wouldn't know I mean a knife would be fine, but there could be instances where you might want a gun but not an assualt rifle, maybe a 9mm

yeah well so is a 45 or a revolver or a semiautomatic but its not something that you would see alot of civilians carrying I was just stating that a .9mm would in most cases be a good weapon to have if its only for defense purposes. I would think its weird if someone has a semiautomatic in there house and only uses it if there being robbed or something
