Are you serious? To defend the FA for their constant cock-ups season after season, is absoloutely ridiculous. Not once in recent history has any of the county cup competitions ran smoothly, or have you conviniently forgot about that? Only 3 months ago there was the farce of the Challenge Cup final having dates arranged and then cancelled etc, and the season before was the even bigger farce of the previous when Telford resigned from the competition but were then allowed to re-enter, i suppose all this is Shrewsbury Town's fault as well. I suggest you take off your blinkers and stop towing the party line. This date has been set for a few weeks now and for the FA not to get in touch with the local plod is undefendable, especially since clubs pay money to enter this cup. The Shropshire FA are the organisers of this competition and the buck stops with them. I would suggest that Telford have had a say in this and didn't want to play on this date because of their friendly with Birmingham City. It would be interesting to see if this friendly is policed or not by the West Mercia Constabulary. |

I have no need to defend my position and will not enter into arguments or finger pointing.
SFA on the whole do good work for the ALL football in the county, and you can not please all the people all the time, and yes human being make mistakes. And those that can do, and those that can not moan! All the best in Sport |

No finals at STFC this year then, or maybe 2 if we are extremely lucky. Whose up for hosting?
Good luck to GT and STFC in getting a replacement fixture. In league 1 now and dealt a blow like this on eve of season. Shrewsbury are far too big for a competition like this anyway (if they took it seriously), should be for senior NON-LEAGUE clubs, most senior teams in STFC's position in other senior cups play their kids anyway. Think this might run a bit yet......again.....yawn....same things year after year |

Absoloutely pathetic excuse from the FA, and like i thought it was to do with AFC Telford playing Birmingham in a friendly. Why set a date in the first place if it's only to be confirmed? Also for a friendly match to take precedent over a cup final is nothing short of shocking and scandlous. If the FA wanted to bring any credibility back to this tournament then they would have demanded that the final to be played on the date they set. Also why have they only just came out and made this statement 3 or 4 days late? It's not exactly very good PR from the organisation that rakes in money from County football teams. |
