The sound sound of paws hitting the ground echoed through the empty side streets of a recently abandoned town within Iona, yet another in Nova Scotia that was left to ruins. It wasn't surprising to the shapeshifter that many of the towns here had been left unrepaired, being unimportant when compared to places such as Halifax and many other of the larger seaports where many of the civilians now resided. Often times she would just escape by shifting into the wolf form she was in now just to tread the streets, recalling many memories of her past before her parents were killed by the NINE, which was the only thing she had against them. It was for this reason she went into hiding many years ago, being rather careful to her one mutation that would give her away and from shifting back into her normal form whenever there were others around.
Moving into one of the buildings so she could safely shift back into her human form out of sight she let a small sigh escape her lips, amber eyes staring blankly at the remains that laid infront of her. She had heard of the counter-organization ages ago, but avoided them rather readily too, always keeping on the move and fleeing whenever someone she sensed was different than a normal human tried to get within so many feet of her. She hated taking sides, seeing neither at fault besides the one which she tried to wipe out of her mind, nor finding that the other was more morally right at the moment. Even with having of met Shutter and his idealogy, she was still uncertain.
Two organizations meant trouble, or at least it did in her eyes, knowing it meant conflicts and battles she was not ready to deal with. It really depressed her seeing bloodshed and damage that was caused because of one minor conflict alone.. so it was no surprise she tried avoiding both of the organizations like they would be the death of her. Heck, for all she knew, if she ever was convinced to side with one or the other it would pretty much be the death of her in the end. She was enjoying what she had of life at one point, but did it really matter anymore? Besides, she had a faint feeling one of these days someone was finally going to figure out she wasn't a normal civilian.. and then she'd be stuck in between two rather razor-sharp rocks, wouldn't she?
Biting her bottom lip with one of her canines that were a tad-bit sharper due to her 'mutation' back many years ago she walked back out in the open, subconsciously counting the vials on her hidden belt. She had at least ten of them by now, though she could easily have a lot more, but did not want to harm any animals in order to get the sample she might need. Some had pieces of fur, others had feathers or scales, and the rare few had blood, all of which contained the right amount of DNA for her to shift if she touched it even the tiniest of a bit. Sadly, it was often used up to help her fully shift, and some of her supplies were slowly growing rather low. It was hard gathering them in public without people looking at her odd.. or even being caught.
Kicking a small piece of cement from the broken building behind her she restarted her pace down the empty street, amber gaze hiding her sadness. In reality, it still hurt to lose the only people who ever cared for her and would accept her for who she was without trying to get her to use her abilities to fight. She just wanted everything to be peaceful, but she had begun to realize recently that it was an almost impossible dream. The world was not shades of grey as she wished, but rather black and white with two different conflicting sides in an almost neverending battle.
