AND here's the plot:
Four years after the fall of civilization and the rise of the Order of NINE the world still finds itself locked in a chaotic struggle. The Valor Guard continues to fight back in the civil war amongst the superheroes that has spilled over to the civilian population of the world. Death is an everyday occurrence, brought on prominently by the agents of NINE, super villains in their own right, and the users of the mechanized army that the Order of NINE has crafted from the hands of Nicolai Demerov, a skilled technician and product developer for a former European defense contractor.
Unbeknownst to everyone, an asteroid that originated from a distant planet has been speeding towards Earth since before the fall of civilization and the rise of anarchy. The meteorite crashed to Earth in central Europe, flattening five square miles and sending a plume of debris high into the air. Many were killed, many were injured. The meteorite was recovered by the NINE and taken to a lab for study by top scientists.
It went on for weeks, people moved on. Life went on in its miserable normal self. But deep inside the lab where the meteorite was being worked on, something really bad happened. As they worked on the asteroid, an unknown substance leaked from within. The meteorite was a cleverly disguised weapon from an alien race. The substance took over everything it came in contact with, muddling the minds of the scientists and turned the entire complex into a slaughterhouse. The First Zombie War was begun.
In a matter of days the disease spread out of the complex, claiming anyone that the infected people touched or bit or breathed on even. It claimed both sides without caring. NINE agents were getting killed by the zombies, Valor Guard members were getting killed by the zombies, and civilians were getting killed by the zombies. The entire world was caving in, even around the NINE.
Even as this happened, one of the Valor Guards strongest hopes, one of four, was being tormented alive in psychological warfare by the unknown enemy, Visio, an entity that was beyond the comprehension of either side for he did not originate in the same universe as everyone else. He was an inter-dimensional being, a creature born of evil to do evil. It invaded Shutter’s mind, forcing him to fight his past and find himself.
The Zombies claim half the world, spreading, killing, destroying. When they find no food somewhere they move on. The fight has gone on so long that the NINE have forged a tentative alliance with the Valor Guard, retracing old steps, in order to focus on the new enemy and put their fight to rest for the time being. Everyone knows what will happen when it’s over, but for now, all must fight to make sure that it does end.
