Powers/Abilities: She’s simply an empath. Liz feels what other people are feeling and gets an idea of why they are feeling that way. Then she tries to help them through that situation. Sondra is Liz’s pet black panther. They have a bond because Sondra is an empath as well. When the panther is around Liz can also read the feelings of animals, because that is what Sondra does.
Personality: Liz is a quiet, shy girl. She is always aware of what is happening around her. Usually she tries to be invisible (if only that was her power). However, she does try to help people whenever she can, but she only helps people in one-on-one situations. She doesn’t share things about her life, unless she knows you well, even then it is like pulling teeth. In her life she has never known anyone that she trusts enough to share with, except her panther.
Appearance: 
Liz has this tattoo on her right shoulder blade. It means empathy, and looks so much cooler in red on her skin. Other than that she is a skinny white girl. She likes the color black, and she tries to hide under her clothes. Her mother would never let her get her picture taken that way though. She really loves big black hoodies, but she will never where one where the press can get a picture of her. Other than that she has blond hair that she normally wears in dreads, and she loves jeans and tee shirts. Liz is also not opposed to tank tops, but black is her color. Her eyes are brown.

History: On January 22, 1991 a baby girl was born in London, England. Cameras were there to capture her birth, and they followed her around for the next six years of her life. Elizabeth Noel Samson was born to Linnea Samson, the famous actress. Linnea had a child to catch the eye of the camera again. She is always looking for the next way to get her name in the news.
When Liz started school, she lost her mother. Linnea was still there physically, but she ignored Liz. Other actresses were had babies, and they were getting the publicity. It was time for Linnea to find something else for people to talk about.
Liz traveled all over the world with her mom and a tutor. She had hoped that one of the tutors would become her friend, or a mentor, but they did not want to associate with a 6 year old after work. Liz loved to learn and to read, but she was so alone.
As Liz grew, she learned everything she could about relationships with people by watching them interact. She was good at reading people. Their intentions and motives were clear to her. All this girl longed for was a true friend. She wanted someone that would travel with her and keep her company, but no one came.
One day when Liz was 13 she was at a zoo in Japan, and she went to look at the big cats. She felt strangely drawn to the nursery in this building. She found Sondra, and knew that she should have this cat as a pet. Liz thought of a way to convince her mom that rescuing this cub from the zoo would be good publicity. She finally had a friend, although she is still searching for a human friend in her life.
When Liz was 16, she started to notice that there was a difference in her. She could feel everything that everyone around her was feeling. Somehow she had to gain control over this because it was very loud and tiring to “feel” everyone at the same time. Sondra helped her to calm and direct her ability. Liz then discovered that Sondra had the same gift. This is why they were so close to one another.
Now Liz is 17, and she is looking for somewhere to go to college next year. She wants to have a stable home, a good education, and to help out as many people as she can. French, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, and English are the languages that she knows from her travels and education. Hopefully, she will be able to find a friend, anyone that has a special ability.
Sample RP: Liz Samson was told on her 16th birthday that she had a very excitable heart. The day started like any other day. She was going to visit her mom at work. Liz liked to watch her mom act, because she was the mom Liz wanted to have when she was acting. On screen Linnea was kind, loving, and considerate. The opposite was true at home. So Liz got on the El to see her mother. This week they were in Chicago. Linnea was on a series of talk shows in the area. Today was her last one. Tomorrow they would be in France.
Anyway, the El was crowded like it normally is. Liz thought nothing of it. Suddenly she felt like she was in love, and wedding bells chimed in her head. Then she was depressed, and she could see an empty bottle of pills. Guilt was next, and the word adultery ran through her mind. All of a sudden she could feel all of these emotions at the same time. Others were joining them: sadness, joy, hate, anger, love, peace, and then there was nothing.
When Liz awoke she found herself in a hospital bed. The doctor came in and asked how she was feeling. He said that her heart was beating way too quickly what she arrived. It was a good thing that they got it to slow down, or she could have died. He said that she should be careful. If it happened again, there was still a possibility that she could die. The doctor couldn’t see anything wrong with her heart though.
She was told that her mom wanted her to call when she woke up. Liz dialed slowly, dreading this conversation. “Mom, I’m OK,” Liz said when her mom answered.
“Good, how could you do that to me? I was almost late for my show in France because of you.
Couldn’t you have picked a better time to black-out? I know you were faking just to get attention. Why were you on the El anyway? I told you to take the limo.”
“But mom, you had the lime, and I couldn’t help it. I wasn’t faking. I don’t even know how to fake a black-out.”
“That is entirely beside the point. I raised you better. How can you think only of yourself when I am about to be in the biggest movie of my career? I’ve ordered you a ticket. It’s at the airport. I expect you to be here by midnight.”
“Mom, the doctor said I’ll be fine, but that I shouldn’t travel right now. I think that I should stay here for a couple of days. Mom, I am sorry.” Liz said this quietly. She hated it when her mom yelled, and she truly did want her mom to care about her. Plus, when her mom was mad she didn’t spend any time with her daughter. Liz didn’t get to spend a lot of time with her as it was.
Then Linnea said, “Fine. Stay there as long as you want. I don’t want to see you right now anyway. I’m disappointed in you.”
Those words hurt Liz more than any other words that had ever been spoken. She hung up the phone and cried softly.
When the doctor came back he said that she was free to leave. He reminded her to take it easy so that her heart wouldn’t overwork itself. Liz only wanted one thing right now: the comforting presence of Sondra. Her black panther would know what she needed.
When Liz got home Sondra knew that something was wrong. Liz filled her in on the details. Sondra gave Liz some pictures that let her know that Sondra empathized with her.
On her 16th birthday, Liz found out that she was an empath, her heart could easily be overworked, and Sondra would help her master her ability. That was all Liz needed to know. Her panic went away and she was ready to begin her training, but it had been the worst birthday ever.
