Title: Gun
Description: Okay...yeah.
Skwid - November 8, 2005 07:56 PM (GMT)
I'm so getting this game.
I usually shy away from FPS styles, but this one has my interest. Written by the same guy who wrote The Doors and Mask of Zorro. It has Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Lance Henricksen (Aliens), Brad Douriff (Deadwood) and longtime cowboy Kris Kristofferson (wrote the song Me and Bobby McGee).
It looks absolutely stunning. Great story line...and really seems to push some boundaries, without losing it's 'M' rating.
Apparently they spared no expense with this game. I saw it in Toys 'R' Us, and thought it looked cool. So I tried digging up a review on it (Chey sent me one) and WOW. I kind of wish I'd picked it up when I first saw it.
I'm thinking this is a must have game.
Myrdaal - November 8, 2005 08:10 PM (GMT)
I've heard it's like GTA, but in the Wild West.
Silverbolt - November 9, 2005 01:49 PM (GMT)
Guy hijacks horse and speeds off, running over a random person. Sherrif star appears. He jumps off the horse and shoots a few posse people. Two more show up. Then some mildly advanced army members, then mexicans and indians if you reach six stars.
Sounds good. ^_^
Axel - November 9, 2005 06:53 PM (GMT)
Why do you need a gun, Skwizzo?
Gun, is that what it's called? Someone was talking about it the other day, and neither him nor I could remember what it was called... heh, I thought it was Sin.
Anyway, yeah, it looks cool.

Those who are not in tune with country music from the 80's will recognize him as the old guy from the Blade movies.
And yeah, I'd get this game if I had an Ono Sendai deck. My Ninja 5000 really wouldn't cut it for this kind of thing.
El Stormo - November 10, 2005 11:36 AM (GMT)
Kris Kristofferson played in much more (and better) movies than that awful Blade.
Skwid - November 10, 2005 11:42 AM (GMT)
To me, he will always be known as one of the greatest song writers.

Blade wasn't that bad. Blade two was a little worse (Because sequels always are). Blade three (didn't deserve to exist) just fell into cliche-ness. >_>
Okay, off the movie...
Gun looks pretty good. It's on my list of games to get. But I'm gonna get Fable: Lost Chapters first... and I'm saving up some cash on the side for Oblivion. It shall be MINE, all mine... ... unless I get it for christmas, in which case it will be only slightly mine... >_> Bollocks.
Gun introducing something new-ish. Yeah, it's basically grand theft auto with a wild west flare.
But I can't remember the last time I played a Wild West Game... besides that one on my Nintendo where you shot the outlaws with your orange duck hunting gun...
Overall, I'm gonna grab it. It should pose some entertainment for awhile.

Isn't it being delayed until sometime after Christmas?

Skwid - November 11, 2005 06:13 AM (GMT)
And likely be delayed again. :D

You should name your links better, you shouldn't name them stupid non-important words such as "Here."

"Shouldn't" is not a word for Admins, MD2.

Oooo...you can use the person you killed as a shield! And you get better by swigging whiskey!
So, this would be another game on Xbox 360. Do I want to upgrade my pc, or get the Xbox? Decisions, decisions.
(All the links are just wonderfull.)

Upgrade, Upgrade, Upgrade
I swear I'll form a protest rally outside of your home if you buy an X-box
MorrowindDemon2 - November 12, 2005 09:26 PM (GMT)
What's wrong with an Xbox? Why can't you have both?
OMG WHY THE FUCK DID YOU POST THAT LINK???
Axel - November 13, 2005 04:22 AM (GMT)
Because...
Good PC > Xbox
Plain and simple.

Well, maybe once Macintosh go over to Intel and you could duel wield Mac and PC...
Skwid - November 15, 2005 07:07 AM (GMT)

Don't forget a jacket; it's getting a bit chilly here.
But you're right. Besides, this is another in a long list of good reasons to upgrade my favorite toy!

Yesterday I rented Gun, played it, then beat it today. It's fun, but sadly is another "10 hour game". The story is great indeed, but compressed, and as a result, lacks a lot of depth. I found the side quests to be a lot of fun too, but there were way too few of them. Hell, even the pony express missions were fun, and all you were doing was running around delivering stuff.
The biggest problem with it though is it has no replay value. I wouldn't bother buying it, just rent it once.
Oh and Skwid, make sure you finishing 100%, there's one hell of a prize if you do.

Ugh...there's nothing worse than paying so much money for a game...only to have it finished in a matter of hours.
Nice to hear it's a fun game, though...I'll have to see about renting it. Just a little hard to find PC games for rent in my area.
Axel - November 28, 2005 06:17 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I just went and rented it for Xbox.
Skwid - November 28, 2005 07:10 PM (GMT)

I'll just tell them it wouldn't play on my system. ;)

Receipt...close enough. :)
That's just it, though...you go in when a new person is working and act like you're returning it for the first time.
