I've been playing ball hockey for a few months. Some co-workers of mine introduced me to some folks that play in a league, and I signed up. We had started out the season strong...winning 3 of our first 4...but then everything went to shambles. We lost six straight, and were in danger of missing the playoffs.

Luckily, however, we fought out of or slump and won 3 of our last 4 games. Our team, The Storm, had never advanced past the first round of playoffs. This year would be different, though...we came back to beat The AM Stars in overtime to face the Goodfellas in round 2. We beat them as well...and now we're in the championship round.

Funny enough, the team we're facing was the last place team in the playoffs...a testament to the work they've put in throughout the playoffs.

Our first game goes February 29th, with game two on March 2nd. I'll keep you all posted on what happens, and I'll likely talk a lot more about it during our upcoming season, which begins March 4th.

*sigh* No rest for the wicked...

Sooo...we lost the championships. A shame, yes, but what a ride it was. :)

We were one goal away from forcing a third game, where the first goal wins, so anything could have happened. Not to be this season, though.

A new season is upon us...we're already two games in, with our next games this Saturday and Sunday. So far we've lost our first game, won our second. I normally play left wing, but it looks like I'm going to be on the top defensive unit for a while.

Which is, I must say, completely fine by me. :)

I'd say I haven't exactly been keeping up with this thread.

Anywho...we're on the verge of starting the playoffs for the Spring Season. One more game to go...we currently sit in third place. Before Sunday, we were tied for third with a team called the Brampton Beast. Due to the fact that they're really the only team from last season that's in our league this season, they've become a bit of a rivalry.

We've also had to fights break out during games against them. One of them resulted in our captain getting a two game suspension.

Anywho, we trounced them this time by a score of 8-3. And...

yes, AND!

I finally scored my first goal as a member of The Storm. Been a long time coming, and now maybe they'll come a little easier from here on out. The last game I played before this one was three weeks ago, and I had a horrible game. I'd been sitting on that performance for three weeks, and was thrilled to go out there and redeem myself.

I think I've pretty much solidified myself on the top defensive unit. :)
