Title: Movies and Television

Pope - July 12, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
I have given up on movies and television. I have slowly come to the realization that they have led to my mind becoming inert. I am tired of the endless bombardment of consumer products from commercials and the shameless plugs that inundate most movies. I am tired of the idiotic fads that the herd of humans grab on to in order to give themselves a sense of purpose and a feeling of belonging to a certain group.

I am staying with books written before this time of naked lust for plastics. A few exceptions will be A song of Ice and Fire and certain other fantasy novels.

Axel - July 12, 2007 03:27 AM (GMT)
Will you make an exception for A Song of Ice and Fire's television series, or will that kill your lust
for the books?

For the most part, I agree with you though. I still find things here and there that are not complete
trash... but that's rare nowadays.

Pope - July 12, 2007 03:30 AM (GMT)
I refuse to watch my beloved A Song of Ice and Fire get corrupted by HBO. I will not even look at pictures of the actors so they do not destroy the image I already have for the characters.

Skwid - July 12, 2007 03:36 AM (GMT)
You can even extend this to music. Much of it is just watered down garbage, with much of it sounding the same as the next.

Creativity is lost on today's society, I think, for the most part. Reality TV is the prime example. Instead of coming up with something new, another reality show pops up. The rules might be different, but the song remains the same.

I'm going to have to disagree with that one. I mean it seems logical that finding "originality" is more difficult these days, because every amazing idea has probably been thought of by now. As for creativity being lost on today's society, I don't see how you think that. Every form of entertainment is going through an incredible stage of revolution. Sure, there are obstacles that must be overcome (reality tv, over-excessive gore, and parodies without real humor), but isn't that the case with any stage of development? Expression is on such a large scale, that I can't help but appreciate the fact that, although at times thing may seem a bit ridiculous, the fact that they're being put out there is cool. But that's just my acceptance of any form of art.

Imagine that: I agree with pope! It will be a day long remembered!

Quick! Make a screenshot of the above post! Before it's too late, dammit!

Pope - July 12, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
I did not know that there was a finite number of amazing ideas.

That's a shame, because now you will miss the Simpsons movie, new Southpark episodes and porn.

Pope - July 14, 2007 09:28 PM (GMT)
Porn is the only thing that I miss.

Silverbolt - July 15, 2007 09:45 AM (GMT)
You have Internet, you pussy. :p

Axel - July 15, 2007 12:57 PM (GMT)
That would go against his code. He now has to get that stuff in "real life" with the Tomato.

Internet porn just isn't as hilarious as TV porn, I mean there is nothing funnier then seeing a guy supposedly cum as a girl sucks off his leg, or a girl after she has moved up and down a guy stomach for at least 5 minutes.

Silverbolt - July 15, 2007 06:22 PM (GMT)
What the FUCK do you watch, man???

Axel - July 16, 2007 09:23 AM (GMT)
Porn, obviously. You've seen worse.

RTL5 porn :)

which probably means nothing to you, but it's the worst porn out there. Public television doesn't offer real porn.

Silverbolt - July 16, 2007 10:56 AM (GMT)
Is that like the German TV Channel RTL?

Anyway, there isn't any REAL porn, indeed, on public television. It's all simulated and the actors all moan, even though their pelvises are 20 centimeters apart.

Tis funni.

Axel - July 16, 2007 11:38 AM (GMT)
RTL5

Or if you dislike Wikipedia: RTL5

Pope - July 16, 2007 01:27 PM (GMT)
Man that is an awesome television channel!

Axel - July 16, 2007 03:22 PM (GMT)
No! You will BE KILL BY TELEVISION

I believe it's HQ is in Luxembourg. And you pretty much get the general idea of their porn.

Oh, I doubt it's the worst porn out there. HBO has pretty lame porn.

Actually, all the movie channels have pathetic porn. The good stuff is on PPV, those bastards.
