Okay so I still have a few things to add but Microsoft word is kicking my butt. I felt I had made the lovely admin wait far too long for this application so here he is, thus far. I hope you don't mind that I've used a slightly dated (at least for me) history and personality, I think I wrote them a year ago. Either way, I hope it's okay (I was a little lazy, sorry).

The Basics of The Character

We have all got to start somewhere

Name: William ‘Spike’ Pratt
Position: Master vampire
Allegiance: Order of Auralius
Gender: Male
Age: 119
Country of Origin: England
Special Abilities Enhanced strength and agility: Spike is Superior in strength to your average vampire duet o his close tie to The Master, being so far up the bloodline Spike is nowhere near as diluted as other members of the order.

Healing Abilities: Spike is able to heal himself. Healing does not occur immediately, but takes time depending on the severity of the injury. If the wound is small it can take as little as twelve hours for it to heal, if it’s a serious injury it could take weeks.

Heightened Senses: Smell an important sense that allows Spike to tell a human from a vampire, a werewolf from a puppy dog and so forth. The vampire’s sense of smell is second only to his sense of taste; Unlike most vampires Spike doesn't really use his sense of smell - almost taking it for granted. He in fact, like a human relies more on sight and sound to navigate. Which leads us nicely on to hearing; vampire hearing is insanely acute Spike could most likely hear a pin drop a mile away. Taste is also very powerful; every animal has at least a slight sense of taste even those that you would imagine don't have much in the way of sense at all. Spike, like all vampires can tell you almost anything about a person from the taste of their blood. Last but certainly not least is the vampire's vision, like all nocturnal creatures Spike is equipped with night vision completing the vampire's hunting ensemble.

Physical Description

Appearance is skin deep

Height: 5’8
Weight: 140 lbs
Build / Body Type:
Hair Colour: Bleached blond
Eye Colour: Blue
Voice: William has a very proper English accent, like anyone from the upper class in Victorian England.
Spike, however is every bit William’s opposite. His accent is working class and some have considered his tone to be sexy. There’s a gruff, hardness to the vampire’s voice but it takes nothing from the allure, the enchantment it seems to hold on member of the opposite sex.
General Appearance: <- working on it
Clothing Style: Spike has drifted from one way of dressed to another, throughout his life and unlife. As a human he would dress in typical upper class garb, suits with tails, shoes that clicked when he walked and just to show his wealth, some spectacles (or maybe they were because he had poor eyesight). In later life, or rather unlife Spike's dress sense deteriorated much to the disgust of Angelus - but hey if it doesn't piss off a big scary Irish guy what's the point right? His attire consisted mostly of things worn by working-class Britain, and it would only escalate from their.

As human fashions became more outspoken as did Spike's until eventually bleach blond locks, tight black jeans, heavy boots and a tight t-shirt were an appropriate permanent attire for him.

Personal History

How we got where we are now

Date of Birth: Now, if he could remember that he might just have one of the best memories ever. He does, however remember the day of his re-birth. The day he met Dru, it was one of those days that just sticks in your mind for eternity, literally. Okay, so he doesn’t know the exact day but it was mid-August in 1880.
Marital Status: Single
Family: Anne Pratt, his mother.
Richard Pratt, his father.
The order of Auralius.
Personal History: Spike was born in the winter of 1853, of course his parents –Anne and Richard- didn’t name their child Spike. The vampire was initially known as William. He grew up in a typical upper class society, where everyone is pompous and self-righteous, or at least almost everyone is.

In 1867 William’s father died of cholera and he was thus the man –I use this term loosely- of the house. In time William found who couldn’t fill his father’s shoes and instead found himself lost in a world of poetry that happened to revolve around Miss Cecily Adams.
At one particular party in 1880 William’s new nickname "William the Bloody"-due to his bloody awful poetry- was shared among his peers (this name later followed him into the vampire world). When William’s feelings for Cecily were bought to the surface the girl rejected him and sent him whimpering into the night. This is where his story changes. A beautiful and rather exotic woman met him in a barn, as you can imagine our William was rather perturbed by her; at least at first. Soon he became mesmerized at which point Drusilla –the beautiful woman- seized her opportunity to change the soppy poet into a savage killer.

Now, you must remember that William is a recently turned vampire, desperate to taste the blood of the innocent and carve out a name for himself. First though he chooses to travel back to his home, instead of out right killing his mother the fledgling decides instead to turn her into a vampire so they can “Be together forever”. The creature that took over his mother’s body though was a cruel beast and mercilessly taunted William telling him she despised him all along, and insinuating that William had always had a sexual fascination with her. He finds no solution for this problem but to stake her out right, this experience returns to haunt him later in his unlife when The First Evil uses it as a form of manipulation.
William soon left his past behind him and took up the name ‘Spike’ (due to his habit of torturing people with railroad spikes). There were a few ways Spike differed from William; he was a rebel, choosing to part with his roots and adopted a North London accent, hell he even embraced an impulsive attitude and an extreme love for violence. Spike, Drusilla, Angelus and Darla cut a swath through Europe and Asia for almost two decades.

Finally, in 1900 Spike killed himself a slayer. The Chinese Slayer in fact during the Boxer rebellion. Shortly afterward this event the ‘fanged four’ lost touch (due to Angelus having been recently cursed with a soul), leaving Spike and Drusilla to cut their own path through continents leaving fear and death in their wake.

In the 1970’s Spike and Dru found themselves in New York where the now bleached blond punk killed his second slayer. There was very little action from the rebellious vampire until he hit Sunnydale in 1997 in search not only of a cure for his beloved, but on invitation of The Master himself. Spike and Dru had been sent a summons to join their ‘family’ in Sunnydale where the entire populace was at their mercy.

Personality

Brewing beneath the surface

Areas of Expertise: Spike has an affinity for weaponry, blunt weapons, long range, short range. You name it Spike would love to play with it. Not only that but the vampire has an uncanny skill for martial arts, though street fighting is more his style. Unlike some vampire's Spike has taken the 'ruthless monster' cliche whole heartedly and embraced his savage nature.
Hobbies: Hunting and toying with slayers (though you could say it was more of an obsession), Annoying Angel (gotta get your kicks somewhere and yes... it's a hobby) and killing things (when you make it an art form it's more than just something you enjoy - of course we're talking abstract art here).
Goals: Maybe get rid of The Master at some point, he can be just a little bit annoying. Kill the Sunnyhell Slayers - maybe screw her a few times first.
Likes: The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Jack Daniels, Poetry (shudder gasp) Leather, Poker, Dru.
Dislikes: Angel, Being proved wrong, Brooding, Being controlled/manipulated, Rejection, Being on the wrong side of pointy wood.
Phobias: Going to hell, hey nobody not even the undead want to end up there.
Strengths:
Passionate
Intelligent
Thorough
Honest
Brave (hey, even vamps can be deemed brave)
Manipulative
Weaknesses:
Volatile
Hard headed
Arrogant
Cocky
Emotional
Personality: I think the best way to describe Spike is to take you back to the beginning, right back to the whimpering creature Drusilla had found in the stables in 1880 and turned into a vampire; the young man that couldn’t possibly have become Spike.

William as he was known then was a simpering coward, afraid of what his peers thought of him and if possible more afraid of what Cecily –the girl he claimed to love- thought of him. Yes, William was a true mummy’s boy. He would spend his waking hours tending to his sick and dying mother knowing that she would always accept him no matter how pitiful he was.

Now, you may not believe me since the man he later became holds none of these traits; or at least he doesn’t appear to. If you studied him closely you would see the insecurity that he carried over into death, and the poet’s heart that sings to him even as it lays unbeating in his chest.

With that said he does have a strong character, resilience and a rebellious nature bought to life by death. While Spike hides his feelings and uses bravado to cover up his pain he is still the sensitive poet that died 124 years ago, easily broken by those he loves and desperate for acceptance. Perhaps the most intriguing part of Spike’s personality would be his strong connection to others even though in every sense of the word, Spike is evil he managed to truly love and feel empathy for others (Dru) unlike any vampire before him.

RP Sample: Do I have to Ty… do I? *pout*
