It was silent in the dead wood. It was a bright morning but the wood seemed to be as ghostly and as eerie as ever. the trees stood tall, black, dead, like demons with long arms reaching out to grab you. the wind, though little, whistled through the trees, making their boughs sway and creek like dying animals. It was a morbid place. Nothing seemed to live here except for the odd crow. Swirling mists his the spiritual beings that seemed to haunt the lands.
But none of this seemed to bother River. She walked on through the wood, hands stuffed into her pockets as her boots made crunching sounds on the dead soil. She was looking up at the sky, watching the clouds drift along on the wind. Her dark blue eyes distant, off in her own little world.
The first thing that was odd about her, was that she was human. She was small for her age, which was only fourteen, she seemed too young and vulnerable to be out here all alone. she was wearing baggy trousers, ripped, torn and muddy, with a t-shirt and a red jcket n the top. She had long black hair that had a slight wave to it and a fringe that fell over her eyes. She was wearing a red bandana.
She came to the misty river and watched without interest. She didn't seem scared at all. She was thinking of jumping up into the trees, but decided against it. She sat down and picked up a few stones, skipping them across the water and listening to the little 'plop' they made when they fell in. "This. Is. So. Boring." she said with a sigh. "What a drag!"
