[River Moongazer]

PHOENIX ONLY

It was such a beautiful night, a peacful night. The trees seemed like giants, but they didn't seem big or forboding. The gentle greeze brushed past them and all seemed so quiet in the woods. Shadows lurked, but it was as if they meant no harm. It was stupid really. Wasn't night time supposed to be when monsters came out and gobbled up unweary travellers. The night sky was hidden by the canopy of trees, but the ground was dappled in light where the leaves let the light through. Up in the moonlit sky were stars, so many stars that one would never feel lonely at all.

River padded slowly through the forest, a firm grin plantes across her muzzle. It was starnge for river, she was normally drawn in, not trusting anybody, but this wolf, this wolf was different, and his name was Phoenix! He seemed to be just like her, someone betrayed him when he was small, or smaller, and he felt the same as she. She felt as if she had found her missing part. She thought she would never be able to trust again, but she trusted Nix. She trusted him with her life.

The black and brown mottled female wandered through the woods as if in a daze. How long had it been now since they had parted? A few weeks? She wandered if she would ever see him again. It was a small world, she knew she would. She climbed up onto a fallen tree and spread out across it, her long limb relaxed and her lithe body tense with muscles. Her midnight fur rippled in the a warm breeze and her dark blue eyes sparkled with mischief.

She wandered how long it would take him to come.

"Meet me in a few days, a week at most, at Spirit Falls. I hear they are a beautiful place. Don't make me wait too long, kay Nix?"

Her words floated back up to him as Phoenix lay on his side, resting silently in a small glade. Those words had touched his mind every day since the two had parted, and on each of those days he had hovered near the Spirir Falls, searching for her scent. The short time during which they had been apart had also played on his mind and he had often found himself wandering aimlessley with little purpose, mind playing over their parting moments, when she had rubbed her slender fom against him. The very thought of it made his skin tingle.

He stood up slowly, the sun having set and the moon sitting high in its place. This was the time when he would make his way, once more toward the Spirit Falls, as he had done every night, not quite entering but searching for her presence. He padded slowly out of the glade and through the trees that loomed up above him, the moonlight lighting his way, occasionally falling in shafts upon his ebony pelt.

He neared the place where he had sat previously and lifted his cranuim to the sky, scenting the air. A brief scent wafted to his nose and auds perked, deep, golden orbs sparkling. There. He was sure of it. That was her. He smiled and padded forward, a little faster, yet restraining himself from running. He followed her sweet, luxurious scent and came to a stop in one of many glades that dotted the area, however this was the Spirit Falls. There, was the spectacle of the sparkling waterfall to his right, the spray it sent up shining like glimmering crystals in the moonlight.

But his attention was fixed elsewhere. Opposite him, stretched out upon a fallen tree was River. Orbs shimmered and his dark, athletic form rose, "River?" the soft words parted from his lips as he strode forward toward her, stopping short a couple of paces to stare up at her beautiful form, a breeze ruffling her fur and sending her scent toward him.

"River?" The words seemed like a dream to her. She was off in her own little world, but that word, that voice seemed to cut through her like an arrow. She smiled. She knew that voice, loved that voice. She turned her black head and looked down with her deep blue ones into Nix's amber ones. She smiled, he came after all. She was ashamed to admit that she had doubted him, since it had been so long since she had trusted someone at all. She was so glad he had come.

She jumped down gracefully and trotted up to him, resisting the urge to run up to him and cover him in soppy licks. It seemed akward, but finally she spoke, and her voice was filled with joy. "You came! I knew you wouldn't fail me." She said with a chuckle and a smile. She stood up, her form lithe and tense and her eyes roved down Phoenix's shape. She gave one of her sly smiles and walked up to him so their noses touched, her tail slowly wagging happily.

She moved along him, her warm body pressing up against his, her tail flicking up under his chin. As she moved along him, she suddenly stopped and jumped away teasingly. With a toothy grin she chuckled. "Ya miss me handsome?" She said with a sly grin.

"You came! I knew you wouldn't fail me." he smiled and stepped up to meet her as she jumped from the tree with such grace he felt ready to snap her up in one bite there and then. "How could i forget one as beautiful as you?" he said smoothly, his voice deep and seductive as he gazed into her deep blue orbs.

As their noses touched he slid out his tongue and licked her upon the maw, tenderly at first. As her bodice pressed up against his he swayed slightly, orbs closing briefly as their scents mingled and he felt an almost familiar feeling inside him. "Ya miss me handsome?" his reply came out as a rumble of confirmation as he slowly opened his orbs and slid his tongue over her ears.

"River..." he started slowly, unsure what to say, soon leaving it, feeling there was little need for words when actions could express his feelings far louder. He walked slowly round her in a circle, coming to face her again, "I missed you." he added simply, although those were not the word he had intended to say. Urgings within him were growing and he knew he was ging to find it difficult to control himself in the company of River, her beautiful features, figure and personality.

River felt so happy. After what she had been through, she thought she would never trust again, but it was just something about Nix that made her heart melt. It was like he had been through the same as she, and he understood her. "How could i forget one as beautiful as you?" As River stood there her midnight blue fir rippled in the warm breeze, the moon giving a shone to it. Her dark blue eyes sparkled as she smiled. A special, knowing smile that she only showed to Phoenix. "And how could I forget one as handsome as you?" She said in a quiet voice.

River smiled and licked him back on his nose as she gazed into his eyes, her dark eye swirling together like dark waters and glittering like a thousand suns. A low rumble of content left her ebony lips, white fang tips poking out ever so slightly as he fondeled her ears. She dug her head into the side of his neck. Her salmon pink tongue flicked out and smoothed down his fur, as if motherly, but not so.

"I missed you." River smiled as she moved away, and then he moved around to meet her again. they were nose to nose once more, and she smiled almost sadly. Almost. "I missed you too." She said, turning into her werewolf form. Sitting down she reached out with a furry face, big eyes blinking. She ran her human-like, yet furry, fingers through his cheeks and down his neck. not like you would pet a dog, but like you would touch one you hadn't seen in what felt like an eternity.

She changed back into her wolf form and walked up beside him. Not as big, but nearly. She whispered into his ears, she saw her breath move tiny bits of his midnight black fur. "I love you."

"And how could I forget one as handsome as you?"

He smiled, orbs almost absorbing hers as he gazed into them before they roved over her midnight pelt. How difficult it was for him, her scent filling his nostrills and her beauty keeping his attention retained on her and only her. Nothing else drew his attention away as he continued to look over her, orbs filled with an expression that was differnt to most. That of love.

As she dug her head into his neck he shivered with a smile, his own cranium lowering to run over her head, her neck as he buried his head into her fur until the only thing he could smell was her. He nuzzled her head as she licked him and he drew traces over her fur with his tongue as a means of reply. Suddenly he felt strong, protective over her, nothing, absoultly nothing would harm her now that he was around.

"I missed you too."

He smiled, glad that she had felt the same way over their absence from each other. Never again did he want them to part for so long. He watched her as she shifted to a mix between human and wolf and groaned softly as she ran her fingers through his fur in such a gesture that he stepped forward to be closer to her, face running over her arm.

Then she shifted back again and he smiled to see her as her familiar self again. As she drew close he stiffened, not in an unfriendly gesture but one of tension. "I love you." he blinked and stared into her eyes. He had been hoping for her to say something like that but he had never been entirley sure and the words still suprised him anyway. But he recovered himself quickly and smiled, "I love you too..." the words parted from his lips as a whisper as he felt her breath on him, "...River...will you be my mate?" he asked moving even closer to her, if that were possible to lick her muzzle, pressing his body close to hers.

River's dark blue eyes seemed like deep pools of water as they gazed into his fiery orbs. They seemed to be alive, dancing with the fire within him. And that was why she liked him, no, loved him. Her deep eyes sparkled like faries dancing over lakes and oceans, and she couldn't help but let a small smile grace her blackened lips.

River leaned into him and rumble of pleasure came from her lips. She closed her eyes as her ears were relaxed by her skull. She felt safe, she felt that nothing would get to her, nothing could harm ehr when Phoenix was around. She felt so safe. She hadn't felt like this in such along time, she had forgotten how good it felt.

She was glad when he reacted the way he did to ehr shifting. It showed her that he liked her however she was, and could accept her in any form she took, though it was clear he liked the one that was more wolf than human, and she could accept that.

River smiled as he stiffened and looked at her as if uncertain. She could feel her heart beating madly like some congo drum, she was sure he would be able to hear it. Did that mean he didn't feel the same way? Her heart sank so low at that thought, but then he spoke and she felt like she could fly across the skies with him and up to the stars and beyond. "I love you too..." She beamed as bright as the sun and licked him on his muzzle. She was so glad, so releived. His next words startled her, but her eyes seemed to dance with joy and happiness. "...River...will you be my mate?" She didn't know how to respond. She simply came up as close as possible, her tail wagging like crazy and she smiled into his fur. "Yes... I love you so much Nix... yes!" She was just so happy, she had never felt os happy in ehr whole life. She nipped his ear happily, not able to contain her joy.

Phoenix found himself getting lost in her eyes, something that happened frequently to him. Her eyes were so beautiful it was hard not to look into them and he found himself pulled into her the blue depth of her orbs, water and fire. He smiled softly in return to her own smile and he caught her look of surprise as he 'proposed' to her. It was sudden, he knew, but he couldn't bear not to be with her.

"Yes... I love you so much Nix... yes!"

He grinned widley, overjoyed that she had accepted and he let out a loud deep murmer of happiness, moving forward to nuzzle her and lick her maw tenderly. Yet, he felt himself whooshing, pulled once more toward her, loosing control. Oh how he loved her...

Phoenix slowly circled River, fiery orbs roaming over her as his orbs glinted devillishly. When he came to her rear he stopped suddenly, letting his tongue run slowly, suggestivley over her rump. Perhaps she'd lat him, perhaps she wouldn't. He didn't know of her feelings on the matter but he loved her, he knew that. He also know that actions could easilly speak louder than words.

River couldn't help but smile. Ever since she had met Nix, that's all she could do, smile. She felt so happy, she couldn't remember the last time she had felt like this. She licked his muzzle tenderly, she couldn't bare to be away from him and his charming ways, she loved him so much.

River didn't giggle. River felt that giggling was what a little girl would do if she saw a boy she fancied. But she didn't just fancy Phoenix, she loved him. She remembered their first encounter in the tree, and she couldn't help but laugh.

River watched him circle her with gleaming eyes that suddenyl became hungry and longing. Her tail swished lazily as her gaze followed him, his eyes gliding down her body. She gave a small smirk and a rumble as he licked her. She held no objections, reached back and touched his nose with hers, her eyes lighting up happily. She loved him so much, she was glad he felt the same way.

River wants puppeh's. :D But if there's no one around to play them, what's gonna happen. We're the only two people on this site. D: You could always join Wolf's Requiem and create a character. My character is called Elvira, and she's lonely and been heart broken quite a few times. xD

Do you need the URL. I think the name Phoenix is allready taken, but yeah. Elvira is free, she might be a little tough to crack at first, but I'm sure you and your new character will manage ;D
