Out of Character Rules;

1. Respect. There will be no flaming, or aiming negative comments at other members of the rpg. This may result in a temporary ban.

2. Characters. You are allowed to have two characters at any time, though only one character can be in a pack at a time, unless they were born into said pack. When the puppy is entered into the adult ranks at one year of age, you must pick one character to leave the pack.

If you are found to be playing more than two characters without permission, you will be banned and removed from the ranks for a period of time.

You may play only the allowed species unless you ask permission from an administrator. There is more character information in the bestiary thread.

3. Law. What the administration says, goes. If you do not obey, you may be banned, or otherwise reprimanded.

4. Magic & Spells. see here.

5. Ranks. Characters may fight for a rank, as wolves do in the wild, but the outcome will be determinded oocly. Meaning, you, and whoever posesses the rank you are fighting for will agree together on who shall win, and hold the rank fought over.

6. Mates. You are allowed to have a mate, though for it to be "official" they must be both members of the same pack or group. Otherwise, they will be simply considered lovers.

7. Posting. As this is a more advanced rpg, we ask that posts try and be at least two paragraphs in length. One-liners will be asked to be lengthened, and failure to do so after being warned may result in your removal from the game. Try and put some effort into your work.

8. Powerplay & God-moding. You are not allowed to powerplay, or control another character without the player's permission. This means, you can only play out the actions of your own character unless given specific permission. Fights are to be carried out in this manner, meaning you can attempt to hurt the other person's character, and they will decide if the hit makes contact. Also, you cannot dodge every single hit, unless you have an agreement your character has an advantage. Otherwise, it is unfair and you will be warned.

9. Activity. We ask that you try and post at least once a week. If your activity begins to diminish without a warning, you may be demoted, and/or removed from the game.

In Character Rules;

» Wolves are the main playable species, though you can play other creatures as long as you ask permission. You characters can have unrealistic looks, with strange fur colors, eye colors, jewelry, etc. but they still must look like a wolf. Eight legged wolves, and things like that are not allowed, though.

» You may play multiple characters, but you must go to your pack leader for permission for another character. You are allowed to have two characters at any time to begin with, but require permission for any more then that. You may only have ONE character in each pack, unless it is a puppy born into the ranks, to keep it a fair balance of players and characters in each pack. Once puppies are entered into the adult ranks, you must choose one character to leave the pack.

» Mating; Nephilim and werewolves can mate, but the children will each take after one parent or the other, and become either halfling or werewolf. They cannot be combined and be were-angels or anything like that. Full blooded angels and devils can only mate with pure wolves and halfbreeds beside other of full blood, and the children will always be considered halflings, because the blood is not pure once it is contaminated with normal wolf blood. Angels will also create children that will take after one parent or the other. If your character is physically a hermaphrodite, they are unable to breed and must be classified as one gender or another to lesson confusion.

» Puppies; You must go to your pack leader for permission to have a litter of puppies. You are only allowed one pregnancy per year per character. Puppies are carried ICly for two months, and after another two months they can be played by other players. If after four months, when the puppies are six months old, there is no player for the puppy, your leader may choose that the puppy either has to find a player, or must be written off somehow RP wise. Puppies enter the adult ranks at one year of age, or twelve months old.

» Lifespans; The average lifespan for a regular wolf or canine is 8-9 years; werewolves & nephilim 12-13; and angels is 20 - which leads to the whole belief about them being immortal, ageless beings, as they outlive most other species, although they are not.

» Falling; Angels, and those of angel blood are able to "Fall" and become Fallen/Devils. This can be done through a "curse", or commiting malicious murders without regret. More information on this later. If you wish for your Angel character to Fall, then contact one of the administration.

Information;

Originally created in 2001 under the name of the Crystal Wood Pack, later becoming Smoke Rise and then temporarily Empyrean, SR is a wolfen fantasy rpg, or role-play game. The setting takes place in a made-up world based on the northern arctic of North America. The main playable species are wolves, and the breeds created specifically for this game based on wolves, though other creatures can be played. Magic is one of the main plot elements, with wolves being able to master spells and elemental magic.
