Stormball Rules

Teams

Teams shall be comprised of a maximum of four players, three and a goalkeeper - the use of substitutes is also allowed, with upto three occupying the bench. Subs may be switched over indefinitely. Members of the team should ideally wear an identical kit. The goalkeeper should wear a different coloured kit however.

The pitch

For friendly matches, any open area may be used for a pitch, provided both team captains are happy with the size of it. For competitive matches, the teams "home" pitch, must be decided on before the competition starts (i.e. league, cup) and should be agreed to by a stormball official.

How to win

Score more goals than the opposition.

Match Length

Match length is still being worked on, however, it is best to agree a time limit before starting play. In games involving a referee, they will be responsible for keeping time.

How to score

To score, a player must throw the ball past the opposition goalkeeper, into the goal.

OOC: the following macro should be used when shooting:

CODE

/e shoots!
/roll
/raid Shooting!

meanwhile, the keeper should use the following:

CODE

/e attempts to save the ball
/roll
/raid Saving!

If the goalkeeper rolls more than the attacker, the ball is saved. If the goakeeper rolls less, its a goal!

Tackling the player with the ball

To gain possession of the ball, a team must tackle the opposition player carrying it. Please note that weapons are banned from the field of play. Killing a player, or otherwise spilling blood, will also class as a foul (see "fouls").

OOC: When attempting to tackle a player, the defender should use the following macro when they are close to the player with the ball.

CODE

/e attempts to tackle %n
/roll
/raid Tackling!

The player with the ball should immediately hit the following macro:

CODE

/e attempts to dodge
/roll
/raid Dodging!

If the dodge is higher than the tackling, the player with the ball dodges and may continue running, may pass the ball, or may shoot. If the roll is lower, then the player is tackled, and the ball should be given to the player who tackled them.

Passing the ball

Teams may pass the ball between themselves as many times as they wish while on the attack. Players must also declare who they are throwing the ball too, before they throw it. Failure to declare this will result in a foul.

OOC: The following macro should be used, quickly followed by clicking on the ball, to send it to your target.

CODE

"Catch, %n!"
/raid Passing!

This is simply to make life simpler, and make it clear who has the ball.

Fouls

Any foul that happens will result in the ball being passed to the opposition. Play restarts wherever the foul took place.

Fouls are currently awarded for:

Failing to announce who the ball is being passed to.
Tackling the goalkeeper
Killing an opposition player
Drawing blood from an opposition player
