Langsam aber sicher rückt die Single-Veröffentlichung von "Automatisch" immer näher und neben dem "Wetten, dass...?"-Auftritt am 03.10.2009 wurde jetzt ein Auftritt in Stefan Raabs Show "Schlag den Raab" bestätigt. Am 12. September werden Bill, Tom, Georg und Gustav also ihre neue Single "Automatisch" zum ersten Mal im deutschen Fernsehen performen. Wie auch schon bei "Wetten, dass...?" sind auch für diese Show bereits alle Tickets vergriffen, jedoch könnt ihr euch trotzdem für Tickets vormerken lassen, falls noch jemand aus dem Publikum absagen sollte.
Deshalb markiert euch den 12.09. in eurem Kalender und schaltet ab 20.15h Pro 7 ein, um live bei dieser Premiere dabei zu sein.

I agree with Erika when she says this is like a TV commercial for the band's new single. That's exactly how they must be viewing these types of opportunities. It's like they are making a new video for the song but they only get one "take" to do it. Bands don't use the same vocal performance from when they are filming on any of their actual music videos. They use a high quality studio performance. They have days to get it right then. Here they get one shot at it. Why would we hold them to such a high standard for these types of TV shows? That's all they are. They aren't concerts, not even on TV shows with a live audience.
Show Business is about illusion. They make a "show" to entertain us. If we start analyzing how they do that it always starts to take the enjoyment out of it. In essence, all entertainment acts are like Magic acts--once you know the secrets there is no Magic left D:
We all certainly have the right to criticize the band. Personally, I have simply made the decision not to pick apart everything they do just because I'm bored and I think that has a lot to do with things. We all tend to post things when we're bored that we might not, otherwise :D |

we are heller and Becker, the toughtest cd critics in Germany on YT.
we have listened to a lot of music these last few weeks.
among those whitney houston.
today it is time for a band that is extremely debated.
they are even more polarising as "PUR"(german band), Tokio Hotel.
actually we think they are really good, because how often
does it happen that a german band is so successfull worldwide.
now something new, they have released the new single, Automatic,
in German Automatisch.
they premiered it this weekend in the show of Stefan Raab, schlag den raab.
surprisingly they did the english version, on german TV.
we listen to the song, unhearable to you, through headphones,
it has legal grounds because you can not just upload any song to YT.
we are listening to the new song Automatisch and are confused, surprised.
it sounds a bit like, late recordings of Münchener Freiheit (german band) at the beginning,
I would never have come up with this as being Tokio Hotel.
and especially this autotune, i think it is called, in which everything sounds ....
it sounds,i will say, very european. not that international like american.
Europop! yeah, a bit like europop.
maybe they did that on purpose, for the american market,recorded it for them cause they like this sort of music, they also like cascada overthere.
now the drumpart comes, and makes it sound a bit like Tokio Hotel again.
it also sounds a bit like..not the voice but the sound, a bit like Kings of Leon.
atleast a little bit.

although.. tokio hotel are really good musicians.

they kept it very much european but with their sights on America.
on the scale of 1 to 6 on Becker/Heller. 1 being the best, 6 being the worst.

it really isn't bad.
I give them a 2. Tokio Hotel, Automatic, a good thing!

Between 2005-2008 at least fans discussed other things about TVperformance but now the fandom sounds like a fucking parrot. "playback, playback, playback, live, live, playback, playbackl". As if playback on a european TV show is new. FFS 99% of all tv shows in Europe is playback. It's the norm.
So when soembody posts " I don't think we will ever hear the new songs live" I am astounded. Whether, raab was live or not doesn't matter in thsi argument because TH just performed Automatic 100% live at Nokia. TH has never ever playbacked a tour concert before, and anyone who has been in thsi fandom lobnger than 3 minutes should know that. They should also know that 99,99% of all european TV shows are playback due to various reasons, one of them being financial
So far TH has done two wellreceived TV performances in front of audiences consisting of largerly non TH fans and in front of millions of tV viwers and both were huge successes. I find it great to see the boys back in full promoition action again after being on a break for 9 months. But what do I ran into, every thread about them are plagued with playback or no playback convo. Especially the Elämpe Lapsele threads and youtube video comments. I am baffled by this fandom. Not gonna lie.
A TH fan watching a TV show in Europe results in this level of intelligence discussion.
A: wasn't it great day we had on the beach today?
B: yes. there was salt in the water.
A: there is almost always salt in sea water.
B: i know. I was just stating it.

C: were you at the beach today? Did you swim? Was there salt in the water?
A and B: Yes there was salt in the water.

So for every TV show that TH will do in Europe, whether it is live or playback, and let's face it there is only like one show in Germany where artists play live, I expect the same type of conversation as posted above. I'm sad to say.
