Kyoko began to wonder aimlessly through Ambervale-goggles on like she always has them as her eyes darted at all the stands from behind them. To tell the truth she wasn't really entranced by anything; sometimes people thought she had the attention span of a goldfish or even a stick, when the truth was she just found conversations or looking at things for too long boring.
As she finally reached the hotel, Kyoko pulled up her goggles and looked as far up as she could, just to fall back onto the grass, since the hotel continued as far up as possible; possibly touching the sky and the clouds around it, intimidating the fifteen year old for a slight second till she popped her goggles back on and jumped up.
"♪I hope they have dumplings♪" Kyoko sang out as she began to skip into the hotel, looking around the giant lobby while looking around for the elevator.
Luckily, with her speed, she was able to locate it with no problems and the counter to sign up.
Ghost - August 5, 2007 03:44 AM (GMT)
Jin stormed into the lobby, dripping from the rain. However his clothing dried as quickly as he had entered, becoming as good as new and drawing some unwanted eyes. He carried two suitcases in each hand as his frown turned to a smirk. The time was soon, all would change, his redemption was near.
Quickly following other contestants to the elevator, he made his way to the counter to sign up. A look of humor was in his face as he scanned the room.
"One sees what one cares for, soon things will become more interesting."
Skyy Himura - August 5, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
There is a huge mob of screaming girls in the lobby surrounding a single chair. The mob is thick, and you can't see what they are screaming about...
CommanderAlpha - August 5, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
It was raining heavily in Ambervale, but so many people were still outside, it was a town full of parasols and raincoats. However, the town's lights still made the walls and rooftops glow with the amber light of the city's name. The people still conducted their business as usual, continuing to flit in and out of the shops like so many fireflies, conducting their daily goals and going about their daily tasks.
However, the town square was curiously empty, and the majestic fountain in the center seemed to shiver in the cold. The rain gathered around it, creating a swirling orb of water that resembled a storm in a human sized sphere. Then the water fell away into the fountain, and a figure was sitting at the top of the fountain. A massive blade was on his back, and besides a black headband, his body was covered in a large black muffler.
A single purple eye gleamed with intelligence under silver hair, the other eye covered by a black eyepatch with a white runic circle. A bandage-wrapped right arm reached up as the figure sighed, and the water once again rose up from the fountain in a swirling mass. A few seconds later, it fell to the ground with a splash, except the person was no longer there.
So you can imagine the hotel's consternation when the small pool they used for decoration suddenly decided to lift its water into the air and swirl it around in an orb. As it did so, it fell back to the ground. The receptionist and some of the bellhops merely shook their heads and smiled. For they knew one person with a liking for dramatic entrances.
Last year's winner, Hashigaki Yuushi.
The returning champion reappeared within the water as it fell to the pool with a splash, and as he bypassed the desk the receptionist reached underneath the counter and flung his key to him. He caught it without looking, and then glanced at the tag. "Penthouse, huh?
He looked around. There was a girl with goggles who looked younger than him, a guy with a white overcoat with two suitcases, and a mob of fangirls surrounding a contestant, as far as Yuushi could see. He sighed. Some people have no subtlety. He turned around to the counter, and he tossed the key back. "Give the penthouse to someone else, alright? The regular rooms are fine enough for me."
Chrome Zero - August 5, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
A hand, covered in a red glove caught the keys. "I guess... I'll take the penthouse then..." Dylan said, looking at Yuushi with his from the corner of his menacing eyes, his slight, amused grin concealed by the collar of his vest and bodywarmer. "Let's see... Who am I with... You, who look quite normal... The soaked moron that almost bumped into me.. A group of love-struck girls waiting to get pregnant and left alone... AND a female Daisuke Motomiya.. All this for a noble duty.." Dylan shrugged, looking at the receptionist, smirking, showing off his canines. "Riiiight..."
Skyy Himura - August 5, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
A tall man with extremely messy black hair emerges from the swarm of fangirls as if they weren't even there, with a somewhat annoyed look on his face. He is wearing a loose black pants, probably made of some sort of durable cloth, and a form fitting black sleeveless shirt. Other noticeable features include the fact that this man seems to have cat ears and a tail, both matching his hair color. "What the hell... I try to take a nap since I haven't slept in 3 months and the fangirls find me... Go figure..." he thinks aloud, and notices that other contestants are starting to show up. A girl with goggles, maybe 15 years old at best, a man in a white overcoat, maybe 21 years old, and one person he actually recognized; Hashigaki Yuushi, last year's winner.
The man smiles, and approaches Yuushi, looking to make conversation. "Hey, you're last year's winner, Hashigaki Yuu-" he starts to say, but the receptionist at the desk interrupts him loudly. "SIR! You still haven't gotten your room key! Here!" she yells, throwing a room key at the man, who doesn't seem to do anything about it, but catches it on his finger by the key ring and flings it back. "I told you, I don't need a room. I doubt I'll get any sleep at all during this tournament. Now where was I... Oh yeah. You're Yuushi, last year's winner, yeah?" he says.
Back behind the man, the mob of screaming girls quiets down, and they appear to be quite confused as to how the man had easily slipped away...
CommanderAlpha - August 5, 2007 08:23 PM (GMT)
As the newcomer caught the keys, Yuushi turned his single eye towards him, as he started describing everyone else. As he finished, Yuushi gave him a slight nod. "Domo," he said quietly, before turning to the receptionist. "I guess he can have the penthouse, neh? I leave the switch to you." He grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head with his right hand.
"Of course, as I was the original occupant, I'll pay for everythin' he uses, plus my own expenses." He said it politely, but the receptionist bowed low. "Of course, Yuushi-san." The previous winner grinned. "Jeez, I told you, Ayame-chan. Don't be so formal with me, it's so stuffy."
And then another newcomer came over, presumably the one that had, until recently, been immersed in the girl crowd. Immediately, Yuushi caught the sight of cat ears and a cat's tail on the newcomer's body. Oh? He turned as the newcomer recognized him, the Zanbatou on his back swinging around with his body. "Yeah, I'm Yuushi. And you are?"
Chrome Zero - August 5, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
"Last year's champion? It doesn't sound half as interesting as it should... And a.... Catkid? Nekomata? I'm beginning to see them everywhere I go." Dylan thought as he leaned against the counter. "Hey, champ, thanks a lot, but keep in mind that I don't intend to repay you. I'm here for business, not to show the world if I can kick ass."
Skyy Himura - August 5, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
"Hiya, the name's Neko. No jokes about my name meaning cat, and my ears and tail, please. I hear those everywhere." the man says, shifting his eyes to look at Dylan, and then he glances back to Yuushi. "Anyways, it's nice 'ta meet'cha. I saw footage of last year's tournament, you're pretty good..."
CommanderAlpha - August 5, 2007 09:47 PM (GMT)
Yuushi grinned as he turned to the other guy, who was by now leaning arrogantly on the counter of the reception desk. "Hey, newcomer. I don't expect you to. I got quite a large amount of credit here, anyways." He shrugged. "Besides, I don't come here to beat other people up anyway, I've had my own buisness here for a while."
He turned back to Neko. "Neko...Natsume Neko, right? The guy who's been appearin' in various dimensions to fight in the tournaments there, right?" He glanced over at the fan girls. "I hear you've attracted quite a fan base." He pointed at the girls, who were beginning to get over their idol's incredible disappearance. "Well, since you've seen me fight, want to test it later? Unless you're up to it now, before your fans find you again."
Skyy Himura - August 5, 2007 09:57 PM (GMT)
"Now's fine. I've got a couple minutes before they actually start looking. Every time I ditch them they just sorta stand around confused for a few minutes." he states and glances back at the confused mass of fangirls. "I just need to go prepare my weapon. Where should we do this?"
CommanderAlpha - August 5, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
Yuushi thought for a minute, then raised his wrapped right hand and pointed towards the elevator. "There's a pretty spacious arena section on the upper floors. We can use one of them if you want." From what Yuushi had heard, Neko used his own bones as weapons.
During the travels Yuushi had undertaken, he'd heard of such a technique in a far away land where ninja-types ruled the villages around the area. However, as far as he knew, the sole possessor of such a technique had died a while back. Looked like that part was wrong.
Flame E.X.E. - August 5, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
Hunter Drake approached the hotel. He was wearing a tattered brown floor length cloak with a hood covering his face. Normally he didn't mind the rain, but this much rain was intolerable, so he had bought a cloack some time ago, when he had gotten caught in a downpour. He enters the lobby. I need a break from all of this hunting for evil stuff... I need a break or Im gonna go nuts... Again. He enters the lobby and rips off his cloak, throwing it into the trash. He needed a new one anyway. As he did this, he noticed the stares fixed upon him by his unceremonial entrance. And the ones fixed upon his mechanical parts... As well as his appearance. He ignored the stares, standing there for a second, then began walking up to a counter to sign up. "I need a room." he said, as he opened his mouth for the first time since he entered. He leaned on the counter with his robotic arm. "Ok sir, what is your name?" Asked the attendant. He answered, "Drake. Hunter Drake."
Skyy Himura - August 5, 2007 10:22 PM (GMT)
And Yuushi was right, for the most part. Neko in fact did use his own bones as weapons, but, none the less, Neko walks away, assuring Yuushi he'd only take a minute, and walked over to the cafe in the hotel's lobby, buying a bottle of milk, and he walks back over to Yuushi, sipping at it. "Well, I'm ready."
CommanderAlpha - August 5, 2007 10:45 PM (GMT)
Yuushi smiled as he walked over to get a bottle of milk. "Good stuff, that. Makes for very healthy bones, I hear." He grinned, and walked over to the pool. "Go ahead up the elevator, I'll set up. It's on the ninth floor." He raised his right hand in a sign, and the water twisted up and surrounded him again, and as it fell away, he had vanished.
Up on the ninth floor, he headed over to the armory. "Hey, Ryoga, is anyone usin' Arena 1?" The man behind the counter grinned. "Nope, you want it, Yuushi?" Yuushi grinned. "You read my mind." He walked over to Arena 1, which was simply a grassy area.
Kudos for completely contained, changeable environments in separate dimensions. Yuushi could summon a building in there and the room itself wouldn't even shake so much as an inch.
Goroke - August 5, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
Honorius walked into the Hotel, looking around the fantastic interior in amaze. Squeezing the water off from his jacket and clothe, he approached the counter with a big smile. "Excuse me miss...But could I get a room. For you see, I'm joining the "tournament" held in this hotel". Unfortunately, Honorius came across a bit-grumpy attendant when she harshly threw the hotel key at his chest. "Room 230...". A loud bark came from nowhere and scared the attendant from her seat. She looked down at her table to see a White wolf gazing angrily at her, with another smile, Honorius tapped the Wolf's head to calm it down and looked towards the Attendant. "I'm sorry about that. She can be very up-going...Now, where's the elevator to my room?"
Still frightened, she pointed to the elevator placed left from her. Honorius nodded to sign "thanks" and walked towards the elevator.
Skyy Himura - August 5, 2007 11:08 PM (GMT)
Neko, wanting to warm up a bit, took the stairs and got to the arena shortly after Yuushi. "This is the place, huh? Not bad."
Flame E.X.E. - August 5, 2007 11:14 PM (GMT)
Hunter Drake recieved his key from the receptionist and he gave a nod with his head signaling thanks. As he turned, the mob of girls was still staring at him. "Well?" He said rather coldly, his face showing no expression. As he said this, they apparted no longer staring, but talking to each other very quietly. No doubt, about this cold new stranger that had entered their midsts. he saw there was a cafe, and went there. the person behind the counter asked him what he wanted to have. "Coffee. Black with 1 packet of sugar." After a second or two, he recived his cup, paid the person, and sat on a chair near the lobby wall. drinking his coffee, oblivious to the people around him. some still stared, but he could care less. As long as they didn't come near him to Talk about nonsense such as how he got his robotic parts, he'd be fine. He slowly sipped his coffe. his eye closed and his robotic leg resting on his real leg. his arm draped around the length of the chair.
Goroke - August 5, 2007 11:46 PM (GMT)
"A Biomech arm...Interesting"
Sliding a chair next to Hunter, Honorius smiled and sipped on a strange colored tea.
"That type is pretty rare these days. How did you get your hands on one?"
Flame E.X.E. - August 5, 2007 11:54 PM (GMT)
Drake Glanced silently at this man who apparently had no qualms about talking to him. Something about him was different... he was quite calm, but there was something about his eyes... Hunter drake sighed. He knew that no sooner did such a thought about not wishing to talk of his biomech parts came into his head, it would happen. His gaze went back to his coffee. He he took a sip of it, and not looking at the man, he said "I made it."
Goroke - August 6, 2007 12:03 AM (GMT)
Clapping once, quietly, Honorius' expression showed that he was quite surprised. "Oh? That's quite a skill you must have to make it. The parts for any biomechs are awfully hard to find...Anyhow, My name is Honorius Agyst. Pleasure to meet you."
Soon after, Honorius reached into one of his three bags to take out a ginseng. Breaking the root, he dipped it into the tea and started to sip more of it.
Kiddo_Shinobi - August 6, 2007 12:07 AM (GMT)
Kyoko began to hum at the elevator music stopping to pay no attention to it then continuing like she just heard it for the first time till she finally reached the café and skipped over to the counter.
"♪May I have some dumplings please?♪
" Kyoko chirped in a cute tone causing the waitress to begin a "Aww what a cute little girl" rant, then she walked off into the kitchen for the girl's request, but of course Kyoko paid no attention to the woman since something else had caught her eye, something a lot more peculiar then anything else in the café. "♪What happened to your arm mister?♪
Flame E.X.E. - August 6, 2007 12:09 AM (GMT)
Hunter Drake smirked almost slightly at this. Then he got serious again. He shifted so hat he was sitting straight, though leaning on his knees with his arms, looking at the ground.
"I invented Biomechanics." "a very long time ago..."
he stopped. he tried to hold back the memories that threatened to flash before him. he was succesful. he blocked them out. his eye closed. he opened it and looked at Honorius.
"My name is Drake. Hunter Drake. But just call me Drake."
Then promptly added
He noticed the girl who asked him about his arm. It usually grabbed more attention than his leg or eye... probably because of the foot long black spike at the top.
"I... Lost it."
Kiddo_Shinobi - August 6, 2007 12:17 AM (GMT)
"♪Thank you for the dumplings ma'am!♪
" Kyoko chirped as she got her container full of them from the waitress, clearly not paying attention to the man. "♪ Now what where you saying about your arm mister?♪
Goroke - August 6, 2007 12:19 AM (GMT)
"Now now little girl. It's not so nice to stare and ask so many times~"
Smiling, Honorius was still sipping on his Ginseng tea. "Do you think it would be nice if I asked about your little ear of yours?"
Kiddo_Shinobi - August 6, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
"♪No, I'm sorry.♪" Kyoko frowned as she popped one of the chicken dumplings in her mouth. "♪I don't like long....conversations"
Kyoko soon fazed out since he attention was now fixed to a rather large man with a cat on his head.
((Bare with me Goroke she has the attention span of a goldfish XD))
Flame E.X.E. - August 6, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
Hunter Drake began to shift his position. He was begining to feel uncomfortable with this conversation about his arm. he had no intention to reopen his memories of the past. He didn't care what his psycologist said. He was socially challenged, and had trouble with socialities, and couldent change that. Though he did apreciate the positive interest these 2 had in him. unlike those girls who were in a corner staring at him talking about him. Still staring. he couldent take it much longer. he gave them a very murdurous look with his yellow eye and they walked away to go gossip in another room. he looked at the girl still standing there, obviously waiting for a reply.
"I lost it."
he said uncomfortably. He looked at the man besides him and said,
"Do you have any more of that ginseng?"
Goroke - August 6, 2007 12:34 AM (GMT)
"What a fun little girl...Why yes, I in fact have 3 bag full of them!"
Handing Drake 5 raw ginseng, Honorius stood from the table. "Those things are the healthiest thing in this world! I really recommend you to take it with a tea of somesort. Anyhow, I have to take my leave. If you need to find me, please check the Room 230 or the training dome. Pleasure to meet you, Drake."
Taking a gentle bow, he slowly stepped towards the elevator...
Kiddo_Shinobi - August 6, 2007 12:41 AM (GMT)
Kyoko turned her attention back to Drake, she knew it wasn't nice to take lightly such a thing as a lost arm so she decided to cheer him up. "♪I'm sorry to hear that sir, you can have one of my dumplings if it makes you feel better♪" She smiled at him as she put the container on the table so they could both have some. "♪And if it makes you feel better, I got kicked out of my village when I was four♪"
With that said Kyoko pulled up her goggles to reveal her blue and red eye and a pair of fox ears the same color as her bronzed hair, with a chain style earing hanging off her left one with a small black cross with the word HOPE engraved into it.
"♪All because I was different...I lost a home but you don't see me sad♪" Kyoko finished as she gave him a giant grin.
Flame E.X.E. - August 6, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
He looked at her.
"Its okay." "And no thank you"
he said denying the dumplings. he saw her ears... and eyes... Different indeed... He was taken aback at her statemen about being kiked out of her village and being said so lightly...
" Im a sociopath... i have trouble with being social, so forgive my bluntness... i lost my right arm, left leg, and my right eye... A long time ago... as well as gaining this scar. And yes, it is a scar, not a tatto or anything. he said, pointing to the unnaturally wide, scar reaching from his ear covering encancement to all past his eye. its... personal though, why im so grim..."
"Want some ginseng? He gave me too much." He said with his same, cold expression as always.
(BTW, pic is on his submission ; )
Kiddo_Shinobi - August 6, 2007 01:03 AM (GMT)
"♪Okie!♪" Kyoko replied as she sat down and took some of the ginseng, she wasn't much of a tea person and would rather live off dumplings, but she didn't want him to feel so grim. "♪It tastes really good♪"

As the last of the new contestants started to fill out of the room, the door to the Hotel flung open, and fireworks streamed through the door, exploding above the people standing in the room. In the entrance to the hotel stood an average sized man with a black and red top hat on his head. Walking in with his arms outstreched, The man's seemingly blond hair and light blue eyes shown through, and his clothing, a black jacket and form-fitting black pants became visable as well. More fireworks exploded around the bespectacled viewers, but strangely, no sparks appeared to come from the fireworks. The man made it into the center of the room, let out a big smile, and taking a long red stick with a black end out of his pocket, the man turned to face the others in the room.
"Hello, ladies and gentleman!" Just before he had spoken, The man tapped the stick to his neck, amplifing his voice to make it hearable throughout the entire first floor, and possibly the second to someone with good ears, despite the constant stream of fireworks and chattering crowd. "My name is Andrew Den. Some of you might of heard of me, I like to think I'm a fairly well-known magician." Some of the crowd obviously recognized Andrew, and his smile got bigger. He was practically a celebrity now. "The Greatest Magician The World Has Ever Seen!" some of the papers had called him. Such Ignorance. "I have come here to enter in the Zephyr Tournament," Andrew turned around and winked at the receptionist. "And I don't plan on leaving, until I've won and beaten all the sorry participants in the building! Including Hashigaki Yuushi!" Some of the crowd cheered, and the fangirls, with the catboy gone, began to run up to Andrew. Before they reached him however, Smoke began to form behind him as Andrew spun around toward the reception desk, Leaving just the receptionist and him.
"Here's your key sir. That was probably the most dramatic entrance I've seen yet. Good Luck." The receptionist blushed a little and threw Andrew a key. Andrew grabbed it, and smiled teasingly at the receptionist. "Thanks a ton honey." Bowing low at the receptionist, Andrew began walking out of the smoke, as it began vanishing. If only she knew. If only any of them knew. As he exited the smoke, Andrew moved his wand a bit and flew into the air, flying above the large crowd that had formed, winking at them and heading toward the elevator.
Flame E.X.E. - August 6, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
He gave a slight sad smile and got to his feet. the placed his hands on his back and cracked it.
"ahh... Thats better."
"well, im off to my room. Im room 400 if you need me."
He said to the girl. he began to walk away.
"the name is Drake."
he added, stopping in place. he then walked off to the elevator, and pushed the button to call it down. He stood there thinking he would make some ginseng tea. he needed to calm his mind. He didnt have any chamomile at the moment, but ginseng would do just fine.
CommanderAlpha - August 6, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
Yuushi looked around. Above him was clear blue skies, and underneath him was green grass. What a picturesque, albeit incredibly stereotypical scene. He reached behind him and stretched. It was a nice place.
He raised his hand, and grinned as Neko walked in. "Here we go." He raised his right hand, and suddenly earthen spikes began to emerge from where Neko stood, seeking to impale the catboy.
Flame E.X.E. - August 6, 2007 01:36 AM (GMT)
Hunter Drake saw this dramatic entrance by the magician as he entered the elevator, and found it rather amusing, although he didnt smile. he saw the magician flying twoards the elevator. Drake held the door open for him. The magician was however, too busy smiling at the people below to notice. He called out so that only the magician, who was quite near the elevator, could hear.
"Yo, Merlin, you getting in or not? I cant keep this door open forever y'know." He said in his usual cold manner.
Link - August 6, 2007 01:47 AM (GMT)
Andrew heard the man below him. It annoyed him somewhat, but then again, everything annoyed him a little. Andrew touched the ground, waved to the girls crowding around him, and stepped into the elevator.
"Thank you sir. Sorry for keeping you waiting." Andrew saw the man's mechanical arm, but didn't really take note of it. He'd seen plenty of stranger things. "My name is Andrew Den, if you didn't hear. Nice to make your acquantice. And your name is...?"
Flame E.X.E. - August 6, 2007 01:54 AM (GMT)
"Hunter Drake. if you wish, you may call me Drake."
he said as he leaned with his robotic right arm on the elevator wall, shifting his weight onto his robotic left leg. He found it amusing that no one ever noticed anything but the arm. but then again, it was pretty hard to miss, especially with that black spike at the top... Turning his attention back at the man, he said,
" you look like you know this place better than me... know on what floor room 400 would be?"
he asked rather bluntly.
Skyy Himura - August 6, 2007 01:58 AM (GMT)
Neko, who wasn't wearing shoes, is clearly standing atop the spikes. "Hmmm, these spikes could be sharper..." he thinks aloud. He seems to be less than impressed, and boosts forward at Yuushi, pulling a massive axe made entirely of bone out of seemingly thin air, aiming to cut Yuushi down. In reality, Neko had manipulated the bones in his feet to form an extremely hard protective shielding, allowing him to stand on the spikes, and had manipulated the bones in his back, ribcage, and spinal cord while boosting towards Yuushi to form the axe, and actually pulled it out of his back, not thin air.
Link - August 6, 2007 02:00 AM (GMT)
Had anyone been paying extreme attention to Andrew's face at this moment, they might have noticed a flash of anger across his face. Of course, this would be next to impossible, as his hair was in front of his face and he very quickly let out a small, playful laugh. "Well, I've never been here before myself, but I have been in hotel's before, and the trend is usually that the first number is the floor. So I'd try 4 myself." The elevator stopped at the second floor. "Well, this is my stop. Nice to meet you Drake, maybe we'll see each other again some time." Andrew bowed and started walking toward The Tempest.
EDIT: OOC: (Maybe I'd be a good idea to make a topic for battles?)
