Wind Turbines
Pros: Very Reliable Cost Effective Safe Environmentally Clean Unlimited Wind Cons: Some people consider them "Ugly" I think they are beautiful. Need ALOT of them for enough energy. Wind doesn't always blow. Maintanence is hard We all know this. Now check out the future of wind technology. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airborne_wind_turbine Pros of the Airborne Wind Turbime: Moderatley Reliable Cost Effective once running Safe if in a "No Fly Zone" Environmentally Clean Unlimited Wind Constant Wind Out of sight Able to make many of them in the sky Cons: A tangle of gigantic fans floating in the air = Oh Shi- VERY hard to maintanence. 3rd world countries will have collisions with aircraft eventually. |

Turbines...ugly? They defile the good name that is turbine of the wind! Good pros, cons, unfortunate but true.
More pros: SOME think they are nice looking Already many turbines set up Cons: It will be a while before we get airborne turbines Tethers may be slightly problematic |

I support any new clean energy source. wind is the most viable option as of now but it uses to much space. this article list the pros and cons of several options.

I dunno, I think wind turbines and wave energy generators are the best option.

Wave energy is extremley dangerous to the environment. Cuts of sea routes.

Thats why they dont put them in sea routes. over 70% of earths surface is water, I think there just might be somewhere thay can put them.

and most of the water is in the middle of the oceans (not the exact middle, but you get it), and could be costly to transport and maintence the power

do you know how many miles of coastline there are? I'm sure there is some left unused. As for the fish; wich would you prefer, a couple thousand less fish out of billions or clean power forever?

Billions. Billions of fish, shark, dolphin, coral, squid, everythings migration path will be cut off... Plus the entire coast is pretty much used knowadays. |

I'm not saying that we fill the ocean with these things, just that some things may need to be sacrificed for the greater good. Think for a minute. how many gallons of fossil fuel could stay in the ground, how many tons of Co2 could remain in solid form, how many other animals could be saved because coal didn't need to be mined for power if even a third of our energy was derived fom renuable resorces such as wind, water & solar. This is just me, but I think disrupting the lives of a few thousand fish in order to gain all this is perfeclty reasonable.

Killing those fish would disrupt the food chain in that part of the world, and the food chain is a bad thing to mess up.
