The 8One5 Forum Guidelines
Welcome to The 8One5's Discussion Forum.
Let's discuss some important rules and guidelines. 1) Keep discussion ON TOPIC! Please do not make reference to any spin-off topics or sites or any information garnished from them when posting in other forums or areas of The8One5. Many, many normal viewers have no desire to participate and have no wish to see info from spin-off's or off topic disscussions spill over into discussions elsewhere on the forum. Please respect their wishes and keep on topic as best as possible. Thanks. 2) Respect for other posters. The 8One5 community is one of the most accommodating, friendly groups you will ever encounter. The implied expectation of everyone here is to treat each other with mutual respect. There will be absolutely no personal attacks or flaming of another member allowed on this forum. If you have a problem with someone, please take it to PM's or contact a Moderator. 3) Assistance. If you are not sure where to go to post particular info or need general assistance, please post in the General Topic thread or in the Help Desk/Questions thread in the ARG sub-forum and someone will point you in the right direction as quickly as possible. 4)Relevant Discussion. Please keep discussion on-topic (I can not stress this enough) and relevant to the topic of the particular threads you are posting in. We have a lot of action going on in the threads and chat and off topic conversation contribute to clutter and longer threads. If you wish to chit-chat or talk off-topic, feel free to stop by the General Topic thread for chat and off-topic conversation. 5) Starting Threads. If you are going to start a new thread, you need to first make sure that there is not already a thread discussing the topic you are starting a thread for. Duplicate threads wil be merged into existing threads. Also, if you are going to start a thread, you need to be prepared to take ownership and responsibilty for that thread. It is the expectation of the group that you periodically update status and current information in those posts. That way if someone wants to see what is going on with that thread, they can just jump in, read the first post, and be caught up, without having to read the entire thread. You are not limited to that post, just keep in mind that it is your responsiblilty to maintain that post as a reference point. 6) Search feature. Discussions on this forum are linear and real time, so always check the first post to get up to speed on a thread, and make yourself familiar with the "Search" feature to check for previous discussions on a topic. The "Search Thread" tool is a search feature that works quite well and wil find all posts that reference the keyword you are searching for. It is very useful. Make yourself familiar with this tool. You save everyone the trouble and yourself the "embarrassment" by avoiding posting information that has already been discussed. 7) Spoilers. Many readers do not want to see spoilers. They want to save the surprise for when they watch the Episode. No spoilers or "spoiler-ish" info posted without Spoiler tags. When in doubt, use Spoiler Tags.
