Achieving Bankai

From what I understand,the only way to get Bankai on tba is to apply for it from the start with a captain character,or to succeed a captain(or defeat them) But that makes it very difficult for the people who weren't able to apply for it,Especially with how the rping on TBA goes down. To beat a captain you'd need bankai in the first place,unless you've got a really broken shikai,in which case you don't need a bankai.

So I suggest that as opposed to having to defeat a captain or something that you guys set up some thing like trials that you can put a character through. And if they pass them they achieve bankai. The trials would be very difficult but the plus side is you don't have to take another characters position/power away.

Tell you rigth now bro, that's not likely...see most of the Shini population is made up by Cap's and VC's so.... if VC's could attain bankai then.. almost all Shinigami would have bankai...giving the Shinigami the most power...as a group.

that's why its supposed to be difficult >.>,plus all arrancar can have full releases and I'd assume that a vice's bankai would be watered down as well.

Like I told you the other day, if a Vice were to get bankai, it wouldn't be your new ass Vice Captain, and that's fer sure. Like only one Vice has even made himself visible enough to warrant a bankai. And he hasn't even asked for one, so I gotta ask, what makes you think we want to hear from someone who -just- made a Vice, and seemingly because there were no Captain spots available, when all you really seem to want is a bloody bankai? O_o

I didn't say I personally want a bankai,although yes I do.. I realize that I won't get one any time in the near future,But I'm just suggesting this for the sake of suggesting it I figure it needed to be said.

As long as I'm here, there will be no smattering of bankai across the lower seated member, even the vice captains. Sorry, not gonna happen.

Also, you gotta keep in mind, the amount of commanders on the site should be fixed, and VC's fighting Espada evenly kinda defeats the purpose of a captain in the first place. If you really want it, then you will have to get it through some method in the RP.

But it wouldn't be even, that's the genius of my new system. That is currently half-baked. Just wait and see, Baal, I'll give you the details later tonight.

Getting bankai isn't a feat thats impossible , mastering it is the part that would take a very long time. Why is it all right to have brand new captains busting out full powered bankai yet a vice who's worthy of it but not able to fill a captain spot have a problem getting one thats limited in duration as well as abilities. I know we often don't draw into cannon but look at toshiro his bankai isn't complete and even he's a captain. I don't see why like a limited post count like 10 posts , and a limited number of abilities like 1 or 2 straight forward ones wouldn't be acceptable.

Hitsugaya is a horrible example- he claims to not have a matured bankai, yet he's displayed many different attacks, and has never had a problem controlling the stupid thing. Sure, he's young. Big deal. He still has a ridiculous number of attacks, and hasn't shown a problem using it. He may run out of petals, but he's also shown that as long as there is water nearby, he can constantly reconstruct his bankai.

Some people seem to forget that Ichigo and Renji ONLY achieved bankai due to Urahara's device; it was basically a quick path to gain power that otherwise, they'd have to spend years trying to attain.

And even if you do train for years, there's no guarantee that you'd ever get bankai- Byakuya said it best, when he claimed that even among the Noble Houses, who have the highest reiatsu, it's rare for them to gain bankai. He stated that those who gained bankai had their names etched down in history forever. It's not exactly an easy power to gain; your character would have to train for it diligently, and master it. Before even that, the staff would have to determine if you deserved it.

I think in rare cases one could learn bankai, though. Ikkaku should be used as a prime model- he's an older shinigami who is excellent at fighting, and regularly engages in battles that increase his strength. I think the candidates who achieve bankai should be of at least VC-level strength, who have been around for a while, have trained for it, and compete in plot events. If they meet those credentials, they obviously deserve it; it's something of a stepping stone between normal VC, and Captain. It would also be a way for someone to RP into the role of captain, if ever they decide to do so.
