 Well hi i new here! that said. I wanna know if i shall take grave guard or not?
I think they not fit in whit the strigoi! i mean a army of the ghoul kings shall be of Zombies...en massĘ and maybe skeletons. and Ghouls in a great heap! ^^
well my most recent game against an army of dwarfs...well the grave guard all died!!!
and my general and zombies and fell bats was the ones that gave me the Solid victory! ^^
so help me out fellow Lords of the ghouls! ! !

Well Grave Guard are very good to have in Strigoi armies. Really any Wights are good. They can take care of themselves just fine and don't need character support. There also the only units that can have magic banners without the aid of Battle Standard Bearers. Now I do agree Fluffwise its not all the great to include them. But all Ghouls, Skeleton and Zombie armies led by Strigois does start to get a little boring after awhile. Its always nice to have variety. Anyways its more up to you and your idea of how you want your army to be.

Welcome to the keep, enjoy your stay.
Congratiolations on your solid against dwarfs, too bad grave guards werent up for it :/
Usually a unit of ~20 with heavy armour, handweapons and shields and barrows banner can take on most units your enemy can throw at them. The main drawback of this unit though is that they are kinda expensive and slow which means more experiences players will target these with missiles or make sure they dont get into combat.
Thats why I personally like Black Knights better, but hey, thats just me.
They are a good unit though, and they do fit strigoi theme, dont worry about that. Lately, all vampires like to have some wights in the army :)

well if you can make your fluff sound reasonable, cant see why not. i wouldnt think twice if you fielded GG. having said that, i agree that masses of ghouls are a better idea (i use 40) with a body guard of skellies and zombie blocking blocks. i love dire wolves so these are great at hitting the flanks. some people i know dont like GG as they are non replenishable and too slow. an all ghoul army would be very fast and win good tournament points for fluff/ originality but would leave your characters open for shooting/magic unless you had a body guard of skellies.
cheers and good luck

The fluff: Strigoi crave to find and take back their ancient capital.
So IMO if such Vamp decides on going for such a quest his elite wights would be mounted.
Else Strigoii, being suspicious to anyone, protect thier hideouts and sonds logically that some wights may guard the Crypts on foot.

i see no reason to not have grave guard just dont go nutts on them their expensive. if your going for fluff i wouldnt have many zombies the ghouls do eatdead flesh after all! have more ghouls and skellies instead B)
