Title: Von Draken's Slaughter
Description: My first battle with new VC

Krassius von Draken - April 26, 2008 10:09 AM (GMT)
(Narrative of my first battle with the new VC! (2000pts.))

Krassius von Draken stood frozen on the plains of the barren Border Princes. It wasn't fear, just a feeling of indifference at the sight of the tide of Orcs. At the sight of the green horde, Krassius wondered if the Orcs of these plains would ever learn the lesson he himself continually dishes out to them. He remembered the first time he encountered the greenskins on the field of battle, how he felt his heart raced, and also the adrenaline rush through his veins. Now, he stood facing a massive mockery of organisation and stratergy. Now, all the Orcs were to him, was another annoyance.

von Draken's Guard stood by his side, motionless, staring at the beasts as they started their war chants and marching. The legion of Skeleton spearmen surrounding them lowered their spears with unnatural unison. Krassius' dark acolyte, Woosana, decayed almost to the core, was intoning an ancient incantation under his breath, and Krassius watched motionlessly as a whole section of the orcs were torn apart in the unnatural winds, their souls ripped from their bodies.

The impact of the Orcs inital charge smashed into the ranks of Krassius' Skeletons. Choppa's verses spears of antiquity, the Orcs looked to be gaining the upper hand. Krassius noticed this, and still motionlessly exerted his will over the fallen of both sides. The Orcs, horrified by the grizly reawakening of the skeletons and their own dead, broke and ran.

A tremendouse roar from the rear of the Orc lines made the fleeing Orcs rethink their actions, as Orcs, some 8 to 9 feet tall riding massive salavering boars, thundered in the direction of Krassius and his personal Guard. The Wights readied their weapons to recieve the brutal charge, but Krassius was still unmoving. He spotted the leader of the Orc horde, a massive, heavily scarred Orc, at least a foot taller then his bodyguard, with black scrap metal armour, and an array of choppas hanging from every orifice. He wielded a rippling spear at least twice as large as the Orc, and he desended it to point directly at Krassius.

As the boar riders and their leader approached, the full horror of the Vampire hit them. He hadn't even unshiethed his sword, yet the armoured vampire radiated raw magical ang phisical power. It took all of the Warboss' will power to resist running away. The spear was metres away from the Vampires heart.

Krassius finaly reacted. He grabbed the spear by the hilt, and with his spare hand, drew his sword to smash into the boars face, knocking it's massive weight to one side. The Orc Warboss was stunned and winded as he was suspended for what felt like an eterinty by the Vampire Lord. The Warboss watched as his boar boys were mowed down by the unnatural vigour of the undead. No blood flowed from the wounds inflicted by the Wights blade's, just clean cuts, like a butcher preparing meat for sale. The Warboss then stared into the Vampires grey, soulless eyes, and realised that he was staring into the eyes of a true Lord of Death.

Krassius was still staring into the eyes of the petrified Warboss as he let him fall onto his shimmering blade. von Draken savoured the release of the soul of yet another Orc by his sword. He let the carcass drop, and gave the signal for his Black Knights, who burst from the surrounding woodland into the flanks of the wavering horde. The force of the charge was more then enough reason for the Orcs to run, and that they did.

The day belonged to Krassius, yet he took no comfort in this thought. Only the fact that the Orc's will think twice before attempting to attack the small villages under his protection. He wasn't stupid enough to even consider that they may never interfere with his plots again. His plans to create an Undead Empire in the Border Princes wound not take long to make a reality, however. He saw the scattered remnants of the Orc army, and, without issuing a sound, ordered the advance...
